It's a mess. There are already a few people leaning out of the overhanging windows of the inn watching the coroner and mortician prepare the body for removal, and two members of the town guard stand either side of them while they work, blocking off direct access to the alley. Prince's backs on to the town's infirmary and is only a minute or two away from the southern guard post, which is probably why there are already officials on the scene.
The guard are putting a bit of distance between yourselves and the bloodied body, which appears to be swimming in a puddle of its own making, but you might be able to make out some details at this distance.
Everyone who wants to eyeball Mr. Lahaed's body, make a
Spot check.

Climbing bare brickwork unaided's not the easiest of things to do, but Forenrond makes it about three foot before his hands slip and he falls unceremoniously back to the ground. But hey, at least he does it quietly and secretively!
Your eagle half-elven eyes do get an eyeful of Mr Lahaed's mutilated body though. He has a gaping chest wound right over his heart, and there appears to be a hunk of flesh and skin missing in the precise shape of a blood-drop, with the crimson slot the blade went through right in the centre. You don't seem to see any discarded weapons nearby.
You do however see no more than three bloodied boot-steps leading off deeper into the alleyway that just appear to.. Stop.

Alas, Bardic knowledge extends to local people, legends and landmarks.
However, while you don't recognise the blood-drop from anywhere specifically, from your travels and the tales you've shared with fellow bards you think that it might have some sort of religious significance.

This sounds like a job for the clerics. To the Popemobile temple! I'll go speak to the clergy types and describe what I saw. Do they know of any such cult or religion.
