Sorry for a short derail but how is SCL calculated? Without having a rulebook or access to one, I've no idea how it actually works. Can someone point me in the right direction?

SCL 11 is SLA employees.

Ops start at an SCL of 10 and from there it goes batshit illogically. You gain SCL with increments on 0.1, after 10.9, however, comes 10A. This goes on the same way in the order of: 10 10A 9 9A 9B 8 8A 8B 8C 7 7A 7B 7C 7D 6 6A 6B 6C 6D 6E 5 5A 5B 5C 5D 5E 5F 4 4A 4B 4C 4D 4E 4F 3 3A 3B 3C 3D 3E 3F 2 2A 2B 2C 2D 2E 2F 1.

So "SCL 10 or more", is basically anything but SCL 11.

Basically, Deej is 0.1 from SCL 8A.

Aha, it goes down the scale on the whole, that makes more sense, although you're quite right, it's rather illogical to go UP the scale within the SCL rating before going down the alphabet.

Yeah, Bali hits the spot. It's not so confusing if you see it in table form. I was trying to inject a bit of atmosphere by giving up an official looking personnel file. It's worth being aware of D-Notices, but I might have missed the mark here. Deject (the character) would know that was an official and fairly standard disclaimer that basically says "if you're not meant to see this we can legally fuck you up if we want". The amount they'll fuck you up depends on the information.

It took me far too long to write that little excerpt by the way, with convincing and structured post codes, phone numbers and employment records.

Deej, you can also find out her previous addresses, husband's name, his basic details. Any official and not particularly sensitive information. No need for another roll, I got distracted writing a far too time consuming official looking report.

The scout spotted a shooter in SLA armour looking down a rifle scope at the group, marked him for the Shaktar gunner, who nailed him with about about twenty 12.7mm. Turns out he was a Cloak observer tailing them after a spot of bother with the squad's other Shaktar. Didn't matter, Cloak decided their agent failed in his task because he was spotted and would have told him so after his LAD treatment. Would have had one of the squad not taken his head off for bounty thinking he was an Ex-War Criminal. That didn't do them any favours, but they were following SLA policy so nothing came of it.

She then walks a further half a dozen streets to an identikit Suburbian concrete tower block, getting soaked again. She vanishes into the building using a keycard.

As she has left work for the day, I'm going to have peek around her office. Is Sumner still at work?

Nope, that part of the building is empty. Briony doesn't have an office as such, just a desk in a large office that's just outside the door to Sumner's office.

I shall make myself comfortable in her chair and have a little look around.
