Pulling info in PHP works awfully, so I'm just not going to bother. Links, however, are not a bad idea, I'll add 'em later.Ty aka Sir Die Aloty wrote:Awesome dude, 1 thing thats possibly missing, is to be able to put a link to the game website or imdb or something? Or possibly pull info from imdb? *shrugs*
Converting scoring to 5punks is simply a matter of replacing images, so yeah, why not.
I would argue not this on the stars/5punks.
- Star ratings are pretty universal.
- The splats are used elsewhere to show new posts- assigning a new meaning to them could be confusing (phpbb3 has topic rating, for example).
- They're huge and they don't scale well (we have 1/4 splats for the small topic markers for this reason).

Yeah, I was about to write that they look terrible in small scale, so until someone comes up with a small splat that looks good (GRIMMIE!), stars will stay.
Progress report!

Form for adding and editing reviews for an entry, lightweight and straightforward.
All I need to do now is rewrite the entry addition page from scratch and provide an option for admins to edit and delete entries and 5punk Reviews 1.0 will be complete.

I realised this and used them as a placeholder. they are too big and we do use them on other things, so thought instead a different but spunky image? The main reason I didn't use another one is that I'm shite at drawing, plus I was drunk so I grabbed the first image I could find.Stoat wrote:I would argue not this on the stars/5punks.

Instead of a x out of 5 type score, how about individual "icon scores" that can be used either on their own or in conjunction with other?
E.g. A sexy horse (for a lovely graphics game), a Blessed Beard for a really good RPG, a dimpled mug for a game that's good when drunk, a Tetris block that represents something that is repetitive yet compelling etc etc.
So for Dragon Age you could have a Beard + another Beard + something to denote it's a really good game + War and Peace (because there is a lot of reading).
Essentially, it would be like the 5punk customs ranks but forced into something resembling a scoring system.
