My saves are on my 360 and I don't remember much about the story or what my decisions were from the first game anyway. I hope ME2 reminds you of important stuff.

I nominate this game for the "Transport Tycoon trophy for Best Virtual Crack Cocaine" award for keeping me occupied for the last 9 hours straight.

By the way, elevators are gone, you just get extremely long loading screens with an animation remarkably similar to those you can sometimes see on screens in 24. Only a tiny part of the citadel is explorable now, though, so there's no reason to have them anyway. But at least while using elevators you could listen to varying chatter, now you're stuck looking at some mediocre animation during loading screens, which is just plain boring after the game loads for 3 minutes because you decided to go to the captain's quarters, consisting of one tiny room, on your ship.

Also, voice acting is terrible.

I hope it reminds you how to play. I loaded up my last save game and didn't know what the fuck I was doing - July 2008 was the last time I touched it. I think the patch reset my controls, though.

Jaki Shephard looks uncannily similar to Neria, my first DAO character, though. I must have a thing for mad-looking ginger-dreadlocked psycho-killers I've been repressing from my active consciousness.

Very positive review from Eurogamer*: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/mass-effect-2-review

*I guess, I only looked at the score.

Too positive, game dies in a firey ball of hype.

That's one of the reasons I didn't read it.

Nor did I, but 10/10 games don't exist.

Least, not in the real world, eurogamer seems to think this is 10/10

Finished it. T'was good but the influence of your decisions made in the first game was disappointing, I mean I'd love to see that if I decide to (ME1 spoiler)
Spoiler:
save the council
, I'd get to take a very different set of missions to the same conclusion.

Also, a little something for those who are right before the last mission and grew quite fond of their team. Not a huge spoiler, but please only read at your own risk.
Spoiler:
The first specialist, the second secondary group leader and the one who returns to the ship dies.

Bubbles, did you seriously finish it in 11 hours? Or did you not have Xfire on for quite a while because I was under the impression it was meant to be around ~20 hours.

It didn't count the first 10-11 hours which I played before the xfire update. There is about 20 hours in the game, 30 if you go around exploring but it's not nearly as much fun as in ME1.

Hmmmm, 27 hours in according to x-fire, I guess I am getting kinda close to the end. Got most of my team loyal, still missing a person though, maybe they are later. I guess I'll find out in a few more hours. Well a lot more hours, as there are a ton of planets I haven't even see yet to explore.

The loading screens for me don't take long at all, they feel even shorter then the ones in the original game, and I think some of them are nifty when it shows how you get from a to b in a place like the Citadel. As for the VA, it's as good as the 1st one was, I don't see it being terrible. Though I try not to talk to Jack much when the little ones are around.

Gotta love the convoluted downloadable content system. That'll keep the riff-raff away from PC gaming.

I guess I need a stronger CPU then, but nothing justifies a load time of 2 minutes on a single room on a mid-high end 2 core plus a HD 4830. The animations were good the first time around, but they just annoy me the hundredth time I see them. Also, when I wrote about the VA, I was still at the beginning of the game, when it was way worse than ME1, but overall now I say it's pretty good.

Also, you can't not bump into the last one, it's storyline, though you might find it rather unexpected.

Just finished it, import save says 39hr 47min. Fairly sure I've done everything you can on the path of righteousness, all cluster thingy mabobs were at 100% and I'm fairly sure I caught everyone in the cities. But anyways.... time to be a dick.

edit, just read this since I didn't want to before I got to that point...

Renegade is much more fun, it gets you in trouble more often than not.

Also, I guess I know how I could've avoided 2, but I have no clue about 1 and 3. Odd.

 but probably also

Hope so though.

Also, it's a bit weird to hear Loghain Mac Tir's voice coming out of a Quarian's helmet.

It's kinda odd hearing Saul Tigh as Captain Bailey as well.

Don't know him, but I'd guess no weirder than Janeway and Tuvok in DAO. It was just the Loghain guy used the same inflections when he was making his point that made it a bit spooky. I think the Zevran guy is probably among the ME2 voice cast, too - just not so obviously.

I've got Kelly feeding mine when I'm out on missions :)

Having difficulty deciding between her, Jack and Tali though...

Janeway was in DAO? I know Tuvok (Tim Russ) was and it was also really jarring everytime he spoke.
