I would suggest we stick to flash, so as to NOT cause bandwidth issues, and believe that a 'choose your own adventure' type scheme for a first go would keep things from getting too complicated, yet allow for collaboration, creativity, and a foothold for us to get a proper beginning from.
So, I ask, who is interested, and can you listeth your skillsorz?

I'm good at words, done some coding, photoshopping and know a bit of project management. I prefer to just let others do what they're good at and give advice, as well as trying to make sure everyone's ideas are incorporated.

I can do for a game what I do for the tabletop RPGs; plot, dialogue, storyline etc. I can photoshop too.

Perspective, preference and personal experience. These all influence how we view games. I had never played a Fallout game until 3, I never played an Elder Scrolls game until Oblivion and I won't be playing Supreme Commander until 2 is out. Due to this I have been able to view these games "fresh" without any previous experience of the universes these games are set in to cloud my judgement. C&C, RA - both I have played before and the sequels are not much more than a graphical update with gameplay pretty much the same, sure the Japanese and the Scrin were nice additions but they didn't change the way the game was played - if they had would the games still be the games we know and (for some of us) love? Expectations of those games rein in how much the developer can do without alienating their fanbase.
DoW2 on the other hand, they changed the game entirely, which in my opinion was a bad idea but that opinion was formed around the first game - had I not played the first game maybe my thoughts would have been different.
As for originality, hollywood seems to be suffering a similar problem, just change plot lines for game mechanics. Lots of remakes have been made recently, some good, some bad. They seem to be turning more and more to comics and books for inspiration and some of them spawn sequels and remakes of their own - X-men and The Hulk for example.
Recently I got hold of a copy of Sega's "greatest hits" for the PSP (can't remember the exact name) and playing some of the games that I used to love I realise that these games aren't as good as I remember and that I would rather be playing something a bit more up to date with things like save files. It's like watching Never Ending Story after just watching Lord Of The Rings. Try playing mech-commander after playing DoW2.
Still, it is difficult to judge a sequel to a game (or movie) when we have fond memories of the original, perhaps all reviewers should be made to replay the old game before and after the new. And perhaps we should do the same.
Incidentally, Pants and myself have been working on ideas for a MechWarrior MMONG, another game based on a previous concept but applied to a different genre.

i do 3d moddeling and animation but thats not much use in flash games, i also do 2d design and animation but am not as good at the design as grimmie. i also dabbled in sound stuffs and video editing, i also do level design but again that was 3d stuff. i can also potatoshop a bit.
so i do pretty much everything but coding stuffs and im not always great at starting a story but im usually good at pitching in on other peoples

Actionscript 2 on a mediocre level but high level application architecture, assuming we're talking about flash. I can also do some DirectX if we're not talking 'bout flash here. So basically, I can code the stuff.

Right, these blocks, which are all different shapes, move down the screen. And when they get to the bottom they stack up. And if you get a complete row with no gaps that row disappears. And they come down faster and faster until the blocks stack up to the top and it's game over.

nonono! you want different coloured block at the top of the screen, and a paddle at the bottom, and then there will be a ball that you bounce of the paddle to destroy the blocks, once all the blocks are gone, the game is over

I was thinking of this cheese, right, who goes around in a static maze eating smaller cheeses and medium cheeses, while being chased by non-cheese shaped ghosts. Oh, and also occasionally throw in a fruit so it's not so cheesy.
