Negotiation 5 + CHA 5 = 10Al wrote:This seems a little basic. You could pay a Sam Spade or two less to do that. Am I missing something?
2, 1, 6, 4, 1, 3, 4, 5, 1, 3: 2 hits. Bah.
Ms Johnson wrote:I'm afraid I cant tell you much more than that about the job. It could be basic, but it also might not. We cant take the risk of regular investigator getting out of his depth. Depending on your performance in this job, however, there may be further work available for you. More interesting work, maybe.
Not really.Dog Pants wrote:And a perception roll to see if there's any reaction to my insinuations;

You know a fair bit on the First Nations: They are a reasonable sized gang, mostly concerned with the docks to the north of the ACHE, and some of the Everett waterfront, but they have almost total control over an area called the Verge (a rather nasty Z-zone, covered in shit from the Redmond lava flows, crappy wireless coverage, almost non-existent sanitation). They are led by an amerindian elf called Blood-of-the-buffalo. Until fairly recently, they were used as grunts by the Shotozumi-rengo in exchange for large amounts of money and gear, but apparently they have recently broken ties with the yakuza to make a name for themselves.Finally, do I know anything about these guys or the First Nations?

Al wrote:Okay. Well lets call this an opener with a view to better work, should we perform satisfactorily. Be aware that you get what you pay for though. If this becomes any more than a basic observation job we'll have to re-negotiate.
Ms Johnson wrote:Of course. Feel free to contact me at any time on that comcode. Am I to understand you are taking the job then?
Al wrote:Yeah. We'll take it.
She stands, fetches a certified credstick with the half up front payment on, and hands it to Al. She then shakes your hand and leads you out to the back door.Ms Johnson wrote:Excellent. Then I shall see you in one week. Good luck.
