What Berk said. For the money you'll spend you'll get your worth out of it unless you go into the game determined to hate it. There's a few of us with 15-25 characters, and you should get to that stage within about 4-5 hours.

Unless you're me or Joose, who probably have somewhere between 15 and 25 characters

Might I suggest using a friends code given by someone and then downloading the game, that way you can benifit from the friend to friend summon if you need boosted through Instances and the like, much quicker for a lvl 80 on epic mount to reach an instance and then summon you, than a low level going on foot.

This ^

You also both level three times faster and get a zebra mount.

It all sounds like a plan to me. I'll just get the game with a month's sub then. So, who volunteers to be pestered lots by a noob? :)

I'm happy to help. I'll look into how I go about sending you a friend thing. Unless someone else is desperate to do it.

I've sent a referral. You need to start the trial account then upgrade it (if you want to join the guild etc). From the referral we get:

You earn triple XP. I also earn triple XP if you're within 5 levels of me.
For every three levels you get (I think), you can give one of my characters who is a lower level than you a free level.
You can summon me to you.
We both get a free zebra to ride, presumably at lvl30. These aren't available any other way.
We also get +10% faction rep whenever we earn it (5 levels thing also applies presumably). This won't matter right away, but if you play long enough you'll really be glad you had it.

Well if Pantsu is not available you can xfire me, you can ask pretty much anything about pre-WotLK stuff.

If it's anything like catching crabs I've got a bit of experience with that...

Like I said previously, if anyone wants to play they can have my account (as in free). You would just need to add game time to it although it's running to the 10th. You can change the password and have the account as your own.
Ill be playing EVE when they eventually get my account back from the Chinese.

I've got Imperatore's account details now if anybody wants it. The advantage being you don't have to fork out for the game and both expansions, just the subs. And you get to pretend to be him in-game with his characters.

On a different note, I've been thinking (read: getting OCD) about the bank. We've just had a hot cash injection from Imperatore (thanks chap), which naturally has me thinking about buying another tab. That'll put us to 4. Now to explain why this is in the apprenticeship thread: We could divide the tabs not by content, but by level. This way there's always going to be a stash of stuff to play with as you level, rather than a bank full of high level junk.

Personally I think the more bank tabs the better, as there's cock all else to spend bank cash on, and this way they stay useful. Any comments either way? FJ, am I going to have to stage a dirty protest to get you to do it this time?

Knowing nothing about the game, the bank, the guild, or anything beyond the first 4 or 5 missions, I'd say that a stash of low/mid-level stuff would be very handy as it would save me buying stuff. Assuming I've not totally missed something here.

It wouldn't save you buying stuff much, but you'd probably get better access to the odd nice bit of gear, materials for your professions that people have picked up and not needed, and gear that people have crafted for levelling that others might be able to use. By splitting it between tabs you should only have one to sift through for useful stuff.
