I can't quite work out if it's real.
EDIT: Also, I get a twisted satisfaction out of pepper-spraying ornery hostages before hog-tying them. Is there a punch button I've missed Friz, or are you just editorialising?

Default is 'B', although you may have to have the SSF Mod installed.

Brilliant! Now I can punch old ladies legitimately. What a job!
Course I'll have to get the cocking expansion working before I can use the mod

Bought it in the end, gold edition with the add-on. I expect everyone will stop playing it now.
If anyone's still having trouble getting it I suppose I could host a copy.

done!
it's worth remembering swat servers can only hold 10 people max
also, the maps can be very crowded with more than 6 or so.
but we'll see

Speaking of which, can someone write an idiot's guide to installing the thing up to a playable state? I can't get the chuffing extension to work and I'm sick of having to re-install the game to try different things 'cos it takes ages.

What's the max number you've had so far?, I guess if a game is scheduled it's first come first served

*very basic* off the top of my head
Insert swat disc 1.
Install as usual, keygen in the /cracks/ directory
*DO NOT USE THE CRACK*
Insert Swat:TSS disc
Press the topmost button on the autoplay thingy (this will patch swat)
once the patch is done
Use the 2nd button down on the autoplay - this will install swat:tss
Install as usual, keygen in the /cracks/ directory
Copy the cracks from /cracks/blah/blah into the correct directories (this'll overwrite the swat4.exe and swat4x.exe in their relative folders*) and make the game run without the cd in.
These should be overwritten with the ones from the cracks folder
Code: Select all
\SWAT 4\ContentExpansion\System\Swat4X.exe

Probably six or seven. The problem is not that the server fills up, more that the game gets rubbish with more than five or six players.
You end up with everyone trying to get through the door at the same time, people charging through maps triggering all the bad guys and wholesale slaughter, it just gets a bit Keystone Cops-like

Swat seemed to get really easy really fast. It's still fun, but I don't feel like there's much of a challenge in most of the maps.
