Not really what you want but start area is quite limited, draw distance isn't great but it's adequate. This is on max everything with resolution at 1680x1050.

I assure you I am a gfx whore but I really don't feel it's effecting my enjoyment of this game one bit.

How do you compare it to...Guild Wars, EQ2, D&DO, LotRO, WoW...?

Draw distance (ie: teh fog) looks a bit low, compared to say:

But then LoTRO's purtiness was not enough to keep me playing it.

I can only compare it to WOW and AOC. AOC graphically of course is brilliant and I couldn't run it on max everything but it still looked good. I'd say it's just above WOW level, the characters I've seen don't look that detailed yet but I think the environments do.

I got that as well. Can you recharge it? Because I've already used one of the two charges.

A bit better, not played it, don't know what that is, about on par, significantly better.
/edit
I was speaking in terms of the quality of the graphics, as that seemed to be the focus. I don't know if that was the intention of the question. If it's anything else then it's a much harder question to answer.

I quite like WoW's graphics, they do the job and are certainly not bland. This appears to be similar so far, the one major advantage of being able to see mobs in the far distance. Rather them popping up in the middle distance.

Just made a new char on Karak Izor, Spoodie the warrior priest of mighty healing.

+1.

Looks shitty, ofc that needs to be balanced against how thin the questing is/how much grind/stuff/loot/lollers/other stuff.

I was spoiled for purty by AoC, full everything was veh shineh, and actually ran better for me than when stuff got turned down. Shame it got so empty in terms of content.

I'm a big ol' warhammer geek, but I'm not feeling the urge to spend £27 quid on this. I may have to wait for the 40k mong instead.

I'm much more familiar with the 40k universe but I don't see how it would work if it's all focused on ranged fighting?

Doubt it, Mythic only put core servers in because wow whores couldn't stand all this open RVR stuff. Pretty sure anything that's majorally broken on those servers isn't high on their list of stuff to fix, unless it effects the open servers as well.

That statement alone just caused my interest in the game to drop by about 30%.

meh.

When it comes to MMO's, the quality of the graphics comes pretty much at the bottom of my list of priorities. As long as it doesn't actually cause me physical pain to look at, I don't give much of a shit either way.

For example, WoW's really getting long in the tooth, graphically, but I still love playing it. LOTRO, on the other hand, looks bloody amazing, and I didn't play it for more than a couple of days.

but the jaggies on those roofs would bother me a bit, especially on the thatched roof at the front.

I like my MMOs to not have painfully obvious graphics issues, WOW is dated as fuck, but it's quite balanced in its ageing

Wow has chunky fences, low-poly trees, poor water, crap sky texture and dodgy-looking foliage, yet you hardly ever see a pixel.

:above: because it's all the same age and a bit cartoony, along with as much AA and AF as current hardware is capable of, it carries itself pretty well.

I'm more interested in atmosphere and immersion than graphics. Warcraft has topped the conventional MMONGs for me for that reason.

With this in mind, I has questions. Most new MMONGs draw from the Warcraft mechanic by varying amounts, but some are good and some are bad, and most games draw from the mundane. So:

1. Is the environment consistant with no loading screens like Warcraft, or contained like Age of Conan?

2. The graphics look more like LotRO than anything else, but LotRO was pretty characterless to my eyes. Do the structures have character? Do the areas have individuality and character?

3. Am I going to be able to play on my own while talking about inane crap to 5punkers?

4. Is it going to be easier to gnaw off my own arm and twice as pointless than to try to group up with other 5punkers (like in AoC)?

5. Am I going to spend half my life walking, or is there a useful travel system?

6. How many of the classes can be played solo?

7. Do pets work?

8. How individual can I make myself look?

9. If I start several characters, will I have to do the same quests over and over again?

10. Are there even enough quests? (Hello AoC)

11. Will our guild have any function other than RvR?

12. ...

13. Profit!

That's all I can think of for now.
