Woo! My crazy ferrofluid making idea is nearing completion with the arrival at the POS of the final silo. Just rearranging stuff a bit then we'll be ready for our first run

I just had another thought re: jumpdriving a carrier... We could take n00bs to the POS very easily (and it would be all of teh cool!)

Why does everyone think this? ONLY titans can jumpdrive other people.

k, I didn't realise that. I assumed that people could say in the ships when they were jumping. *feels a bit daft now*

Can jump drive ships drag smaller ships through with them? (or is that what the Titan does?) As i've heard people talk about fleets accompanying jumpy things

Jumpy thing most likely being the cyno field carrier, and I would. Can you imagine jumping a carier into the teeth of an armed fleet?

I'm not Spartacus, but this thread about how to haul with a carrier is interesting. Also notes on mins compression through manufacture->transport->reprocess although I know this doesn't work in Marge. Thought for the future though.

/edit
Mineral compression via tractor beams and armor hardeners, most likely. I'd find it hard to see any other way without some kind of shennanigans - though there used to be bugs which would allow you to scoop offline corp hanger arrays with stuff still in it. I doubt that still works, though.

Archon, 8 local hulls: 24,350m3; add 8 Giant Secures for an additional 7,200m3: 31,550m3.
Corp hanger array in Archon: 5,000m3, add secure cans for an additional 1500m3: 6500m3.
In ship hanger array:
Hoarder (240,000m3), 3 local hulls: 13,194m3, add secures for an additional 3,900m3: 17,094m3.
Mammoth (255,000m3), 4 local hulls: 18,546m3, add secures for an additional 5,550m3: 24,096m3.

Totals:
31,550 + 6500 + 17094 + 24,096 = 79,240m3.

Tractor beams refine into 136,910 units of minerals, or 1,369m3 of minerals, assuming no losses. They take 10m3 per tractor beam, so a compression ratio of 136.9 : 1.

We'll assume that 5000m3 of cargo space is reserved for fuel. That leaves 74,230m3 of useful cargo space, or 7,423 tractor beams. 7,423 tractor beams would yield 1,016,208.7m3 of refined minerals, assuming no losses.
Someone then goes on to point out that skiffs are more efficient, bringing the possible total to nearly 450,000m3 before using manufacturing comression.... freighters, who needs em?

If ^this is true.....

Crikey this thread is getting quite long. Anyways, to add to it: I was chatting idly with James Lyrus on the Alliance channel last night (he's the dude that manages the whole Tenerifis thing if you didn't already know). All of a sudden he popped into private chat and offered 5punkorp a reduce rate on the Tenerifis contract of 150 mill per week (that's half price). Quite apart from raising various questions as to who is actually setting the bar on this contract (My thinking is that it's half LV half ISS - LV own the station, ISS manage it) but it suddenty puts the whole thing within our reach.

Once we've sold all our growing stocks of Ferro, Haf, trit and megashite at the POS then I reckon a week's pass to Tenerifis for some finger bleeding mining and ratting could be good.

Some figures:

1. 15 mill per person per week, min payment 150mil (usually 300 mill)
2. Regular triple 1.25mill spawns.
3. Retriever mining Ark pulls in approx 20 - 30 mill per hour.
4. With a good number of 5punkers attending we'd cover the fee in the first hour.

1. WOO!
2. Double WOO!
3. I would think it'd be more than that, I can pull in about that much in my 'Geddon doing Crokite per hour!
4. WOO to the Yay-o!
5..
6. Profit!

James Lyrus wrote:It may be necessary for a corp to request additional belts from time to time, due to increasing size, or simply because they've managd to deplete one.

The criteria for additonal allocation is a fairly simple one - are existing claims being well used. (Assesment by basically scanning the belt, and see if there's huge numbers of 'roids still there).

Secondary criteria is corp size. 1/10 corp members is going to be a threshold point. Below this, then additional allocation is more likely to be in C3-0YD.

Demonstrate you can use what you've got, and you will get more.

Also reading through the threads in the ISS tenerifis forum, a couple of the corps are getting their members to help pay the weekly fee. How would everyone feel about that?
