There's no reason an uneducated scumbag who doesn't have a job - and refuses to get one - should get as much help from the government as they do now.
I can understand why they do it though, as a single mother gets about 19k of the government and a standard shop floor retail job earns you around 13k.
Work and get less? This echo's my point, they need an incentive to work, I think cutting dole by 50% if you can't find ANY work after 12 months is logical* for the uneducated masses.

*Medical exemption and all that, but they're changing those rules anyway, as desk jobs arn't exactly physically taxing.

Teapots are the way to go, and if you do brew in a cup, milk goes in after it's been brewing (and the teabag is removed).

ARRFFGHGH.
:above:

you should at least be happy you get milk. In Belgium we are miles behind on tea-drinking, and milk in tea is considered something unusual or disgusting. that's why i never get any milk when i order tea.

I disagree, kinda.

Desk work, for example isn't physically taxing, but actually to/from work can be so demanding as to make work inviable.

Put it this way, for me, actually travelling for say, 20 minutes, even by car/taxi, is enough to make me knackered, doing that twice a day makes me feel like shite.

I can, and have done it for about a week, after that, I'm completely knackered and pretty much stuck doing absolutely nothing for a week.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to work, Benefits the the fliddy are fuckall, and doing nothing is remarkably shit. But, for me, work isn't a reasonable option - If the govt. were to try to make me work, my existence would just be work, sleep and pain, nothing else. Which is something not dissimilar to slavery.

I thought that was what working in an office was all about. You just didn't get into the spirit of it.

Also working from home is becoming more practical, so you might have to work soon.

Something to do with being at work, sleepy as hell and proof-reading a report which is painfully boring.

HOLY FUCK:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7400594.stm

I know some is bullshit but:
# Welfare reform bill
Long-term unemployed forced to start training courses or face benefit cuts - all unemployed people to have their skills assessed when they first claim.

Covers: England, Wales and Scotland. Government will work with Northern Ireland Executive on its responsibilities in this area.
:boogie:
# Policing and crime reduction bill
Plan to cut police red tape, clampdown on anti-social behaviour and binge drinking in public places, more local control of police through directly elected representatives, improve recovery of criminal assets.

Covers: Some parts cover whole of UK, others do not.
:w00t:

#Constitutional renewal bill
Independent Commission for the Civil Service to protect impartiality. MPs given final say on treaties. Stripping Attorney General of right to intervene in prosecutions. Reducing role of Lord Chancellor in appointing judges below High Court level. Stripping prime minister of role in appointing Supreme Court judges. Removing restrictions on protests in Westminster.

Covers: England and Wales only, some provisions extend to Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Allowal of protests in Westminster? Thank fuck. :likesitall:

Chain mails - specifically the ones that make up ridiculous stories, and the people stupid enough to believe what they say.

I was reading a blog the other day that had this in it:
Some retard wrote:Red arrows
I got this from an Email from someone who i use to work with. If this is true i going to be fucking pissed

Please forward this to as many people as possible!!!

The world-famous Red Arrows have been banned from appearing at the 2012 London Olympics because they are deemed 'too British'. Organisers of the event say that the Arrows military background might be 'offensive' to other countries taking part in the Games. The display team have performed at more than 4000 events worldwide, but the Department of Culture, Media and Sport have deemed the display team 'too militaristically British.' Red Arrows pilots were said to be 'outraged', as they had hoped to put on a truly world class display for the Games, something which had never been seen before. Being axed from a British-based event for being 'too British' is an insult - the Arrows are a symbol of Britain.

The Red Arrows have been excellent ambassadors for British overseas trade, as they display their British-built Hawk aircraft all over the world.
The Arrows performed a short flypast in 2005 when the winning bid was announced, but their flypast at the Games was to have been truly spectacular.
It is to be hoped that common sense prevails.
If you disagree with this decision, sign the petition on the link http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/RedArrows201 ... Arrows2012

Forward this on to everyone you can.

What the hell is this country coming to?
Now a 5 second Google search showed me that this story is untrue. What pisses me off are the people who read it and then instantly forward it on to everyone they know saying "I can't believe what this country is coming to".

Now the Red Arrows one is quite a mild case - the ones that really send me into a rage generally involve Muslims. Guaranteed about once a week, someone will forward an email along the lines of "Muslims get compo for failed terrorist attack - omg what is this country coming to?!". A search of all major news sources will reveal the story to be complete bollcoks, yet still people forward the damn thing on because they're so eager to 1) slam Muslims and 2) whinge about this country. Actually people don't send those emails to me anymore after I gave someone a bollocking (they tried to claim that all Muslims shit on the floor when they go to the toilet, pick it up with their hands and then drop it in the bog. This level of ignorance enrages me beyond belief.

Just thought of this a minute ago:

People who say "I could care less", is it really that hard to understand the difference between that and "I couldn't care less"?

Oh yes, add to my rant: double negatives.

"I aint dun nuffin!"

Especially abundant in chav criminals and anti-social twats, which always gives me plenty of room for the obvious "so what have you done then?". They get confused and explode.
