I did a bad thing. I bought it, 'cos it was only £8. I'm not neccessarily going to play it immediately (although I probably will), but I'd like to play with as many 5punkers as possible. So here's my suggestion, please pick holes in it:

Assuming you can play different characters on different servers, could interested 5punkers pick a server and a side and play a 5punky team on there? If this worked it would create a 5punky backbone to the game for newbs like me, and might get some of us together in the game. Good idea, bad idea or indifferent?

I have a level 15ish orc ranger on Eyrie Peak, but archers seem fairly solo characters so I'm happy to start something new. Game should arrive next week some time.

What have you done?!?! I got Bumming Crusade expansion as well.

I've got a couple of chars on Sylvanas now:
Bobcharlton L12 Gnome Warlock
Samoni L10 Draenei Priest (link doesn't work yet, only just got L10)

I could do with teaming up with non-randoms. I've done virtually no partying up yet.

This is what I was encountering, I was hoping some other 5punkers were having a similar time of it. It matters if you're on the EU or US version though doesn't it?

I only really play my Sylvanas characters, my Human Warlock is L23 now and I just had a bit of a nice sale at the Auction House, so can give plenty of cash to people who need a bit of assistance.

See the previous page for my character names, if you add them as friends you can see when I'm online. While I'm not hard enough to boost people through an instance yet, I can make some nice cloth armour, give you 10 mins underwater breathing, help with tricky quests and run you across the wetlands so you can get to the other island(s) start area quests* and even summon you if we get four of us in a party.

I've got at least another 80 days gametime which I intend to make use of, but I'm monumentally slow at levelling and you will probably overtake me quite quickly.

*This is probably the key to keeping my interest going, having lots of quests in different areas to choose from.

Hello, I'm Dog Pants. I don't believe we've met.

I'm going to start a new thread for this 'cos I feel a poll coming on (fnar).

Damn you people, it's making me want to renew a subscription now. The main reason I never played past the trial period was due to lack of normal people* to team with.

*though to be fair, I'd probably have that problem with 5punkers too.

I suspect this may have been the case with a lot of us.

A word of warning to anyone getting this. I wouldn't use the Blizzard Downloader to get the updates, just cancel it and use mirrors: http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors
The Blizzard Downloader is a torrent client that thrashes your upload, gives you no control and takes a lot longer. At least it did for me.

I thought this might be useful for you more than anyone. Ignore 2.4 patches for now, it's not used yet.

We're sort of discussing it.

However since that may take ages, and on re-reading what I posted there, a medium-populated realm on which at least one existing 5punker that plays a lot is already high-level seems the choice with the most profit associated. I'm PvP/E agnostic, so what are our options?

If you've got an established character and you/your guild is happy for you to spend time helping out teh noobs, then please post what, where, when and how much you play. If we get a realm where two or more regulars are already based, that kind of picks itself, otherwise we can look at some of the other variables I mentioned in that thread, plus people's preferences.
