Thanks to Aki, the tower is nearly ready for de-comissioning. Only two stuck hangar arrays, guns, and the tower remain. Hopefully GM's will get the hangars done tomorrow, and we'll pull it down.
Fear, I moved your Myrm to the secure corp hangar in 1-NJLK, think your Hulk was there too. There were a few shuttles and Arbitors and the ghost Mammoth left in space, but nothing we can't shoot..... :D
So things are going well!

wtf are BOB doing shooting neutral cyno toons for in low sec anyway? Trying to make more enemies while they erode power? Seems counterproductive to their efforts to regroup, if indeed that's what they're doing.friznit wrote:More jump fuel is on the way to Cham, so as long as BoB hold off shooting any more of my cyno alts I should have the new tower and bits done by this evening.
Thanks Friz, for all the jump work! Should be a 'few' mins in the hangar since we consolidated all the arrays.
On the new tower, my plan is to NOT set up everything all of the time. As infrequently as we used the building arrays, coupled with the fact that I'm not putting guns on this new tower, (Just hardeners and alot of Stront) I think leaving the arrays in the office, except when needed, will reduce the reasons for people to shoot our tower in the first place. It doesn't take that long to anchor an array, (just starting it, you don't need to hang around after it's started), and we were keeping them offlined for fuel savings anyway. Between Mano, Aki, and I, there's almost always somebody that could anchor one if it was needed.
My proposed setup on the new tower is 5 hardeners to get all resists to as near 50% as possible, 2 hangar arrays (one fuel at tower, one for mins/loot close to the ship maint array that will be in range of where we can anchor the building arrays), and the ship maintenance array for ships. Then we can set up a build array in range of the mins/loot hangar, slide minerals into it as needed, and ships into the maint array when they're done. Offline it when done, and if not used in a few days, pack it back up in the office. Keep the POS simple and 'empty' so scouts won't see anything worth shooting.
Any comments/suggestions/complaints?
Mostly it's to reduce fuel usage and protect assets. We can't lose something that's in the office in the unlikely event that the POS does get attacked. In the event that our tower DOES get attacked, does anyone now have the ability to use large remote shield reppers? Does anyone have any out in Pure Blind? Just thoughts that we should have considered before, since it's unfair to rely on Friz to jump them out if we suddenly need them. Better to be prepared than disappointed.

Well, the reasoning I had for 2 arrays was one for fuel close to the tower, one for mins/loot further away so people don't have to navigate close to the tower. Also, it'll be semi-near the ship maint array, so if we anchor the med ship array, the array can be in range of the hangar and ship maint arrays.Akiakaiu wrote:Looking at how it was set up, could we get away with one corp array? AFAIK we've only been using the one for a bit now.
With 1-NJLK so close though, it's not that far to move fuel. I was thinking of convenience.

Realized last night, I don't know how to take a tower down! Do you pull all the fuel before or after you offline it? I'd hate to offline the damn thing and find I can't unanchor it because it has fuel stuck inside! Also, didn't really have 2 hours to be on last night, so couldn't have done it anyhow.
Also, how's the haulage coming for the new tower? Are you in need of a rescue run of fuels? I'll be on before/after DT Saturday if you do.

Rorqual rescued
All the stuff is in the POS hangar in 1-N and I've put some more fuel in the tower to save hauling it. Simplest thing it to pull all the fuel out into a hauler, offline and unanchor the tower the scoop it and plant the new tower.
Only catch is that the are in a 25km radius of where you plant the new tower must be totally clear - no jet cans, no haulers, no frozen corpses. Easiest to do with a few people narf.
Oh, and worth warning in MCDEF when you plant it, cos their alliance mail will flash.

Here's a good question then, can I anchor one tower 25km from one that's unanchoring? Probably a 'no', but worth a thought. Large towers take 2 hours to unanchor, right?
Also, do they get a mail when one is taken down, or just when one is put up?
Sorry that I'm inexperienced and full of questions! I just want to get the new one up ASAP so people can use the hangars and ship array again.

nice one aki
Do we know what the fuel use is per month? I know Dres was updating the 5punksheet but I looked and couldn't really understand it, there were lots of -'ve numbers so I figured he was still working on it. If there's an estimate available, I will start getting the next month's stuffs together in Goram and haul to Chem.
