You're a bad man.
The protagonists name is Chell. There's a bit on Wiki that's a good read if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_%28 ... me%29#Plotdeject wrote:a question about name
I did a bit of the developer commentary last night, I've done others before and it always sounds like "email me at G.a.y Ben @ valvesoftware dot com". lol g.a.y

At first (having got to boss fight, but running out of playtime) I thought, s'okay, decent puzzle game, why is everyone so excited?
Overconfidently tried a few challenge levels, which my sneakiness and attempted shortcutting in the main game had stood me in good stead for, but my head exploded after getting silver on Portals on a couple and having no clue how to gold them. This is where the utter brilliance is - I shall sleep and dream of the levels and perhaps wake up with the seemingly obvious solutions. It is a very rare talent in a game to induce this reaction.
Ran through faaabulous Ben's commentary (Realm Lovejoy has an impossibly cute accent), which clued me in well to things I was supposed to have been learning, but hadn't - like the double-thrust thingy and the ninja solutions.
Finished up the main game - credits FTW, then blasted through the advanced levels in fairly short order, 18 was super-fun - you felt like (as intended) you were totally breaking the game mechanics to do it. Seems I'd been using tactics in the main game that weren't really neccessary, and the freedom in the advanced levels really let me express myself.my initial response wrote:If you love it so much why don't you marry it? (best joke in the game for me)
