amblin wrote:I think I found a jaw-droppingly bad moment, though you'll all probably disagree... I have been playing stalker for a few hours now and whilst it's incredible atmospheric and beautifully drawn, the gameplay is just a tad shite. Why in hell give players the ability to pick up multiple missions at a time and yet make it difficult to collect the reward? This quasi-open gameplay is a bunch of crap. There are still level loading times and mini-missions frankly get in the way. I like linear fucking gameplay, it makes it easier to concentrate on the task! Who gives a stuff about a potential power up weapon or armour, I just want to go blow up radioactive zombies in a fucking power station.

*getting blown up in stalker too often blog*
Don't bother with the side missions except for a couple (such as the family rifle one). They're boring and you almost never need any money in the game. The game is much more enjoyable if you stick to the main story.

A terribly over-rated hunk of shit that game... yet them Berserkers made me want my mum!

for me a lot of it was when i 1st played my 360 and tried out condemned, that was what made me think what i do about consoles.

CS:CZ will always be a mega thing for me, I can remember the 1st time i ever dropped into a map and just went Berserk not knowing what the hell was going on and hating everyone that was just an absolute fucktard because of course i was a 'N00b', can't remember for the life of me what map it was (although you'd think) It just made me realise what online gaming was really and from that it stemmed to online console gaming and constantly craving a powerful PC :D

I'm going to add some others I thought of:

Intro to Syndicate Wars, still the most evocative intro ever.

Launching a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers in a heavily modded X3.
