Ooh, I've got the urge to go on YouTube now and say that Halo is shit in all the recent videos.
Fixed to cause more fanboy ranting

By the sounds of it, the people saying halo is shit have never really given it a chance. They're not bad games by any means. They're still amoung best fps's on console because it was designed to be played with a joypad, which is probably why many console haters, who only play PC games, dont like it.

I remember many happy hours playing halo 2 on xbox live. There are loads of different game types and maps to choose from so it never got boring.

Not to mention it's got some of the best enemy AI i've seen

Talking of which, I uploaded a wrestling gimmick video, which was a group of guys who decided to be country-bumkins and sing a song called "rap is crap".

It's now sparked a Rap vs Country war. About 0.1% comments actually contain logic.

No, I just didn't like it. I thought the levels with the Flood were amongst the worst I've played in a FPS - boring and excruciatingly repetitive.

Moot points:

* The books - if a book is needed to understand the story of a computer game, then the computer game has failed in it's story telling

*Playing it on advanced difficulty - wave after wave of Flood that take longer to kill? I'd rather not die of old age

*The fact it's a console game - I own two consoles and have played many other games that are better than Halo (most notably Deus Ex, which pwns Master Chef hard in his face).

:above: So fucking hard.

While a lot of the earlier bits of the game with the arsing about with the warthog etc were fun, the flood made up for it by being fucking lazy and appalling map design.

The Library level in the first Halo is utter fail. Complete and utter fail, although I'd disagree on the level design on other levels which feature the flood.

Edits: Flood are slightly fail though.

I can't remember what is what now (i played a few years ago)

There was the flood, which was in a funny shaped dark area, which was just dull.

Then there was the SAME FUCKING ROOM 75 FUCKING TIMES

Yeah, that'll be the Library. Worst level of any game EVAR.

I avoid it like the plague when doing replays.

yeah the library was very repetitive, forgot about that bit..... Halo sucks! ;)

i enjoyed fighting the flood in some parts though as they scared the shit out of me

 didnt know Deus Ex was on PS2. I'm surprised they managed it. Other than that, though, i still think Halo 2 is the best console FPS.....after Goldeneye..... and probably Bioshock. RB6: Vegas is pretty sweet too :P

Okay I think we get it, some people don't like Halo. Personally I loved it and it was something quite special for consoles at the time. So the PC has had better FPSs, big whoop, that's not really the point. For many it was the extra social aspect of the game which made it something special, like Goldeneye back in the day. Although I found it hard to get as much enjoyment from Halo 2, then and now, as I try to play through it for the second time. If you thought the original was repetitive then don't go near the sequel.

I didn't like Deus-Ex; too much talk, not enough shoot.
