You should see it when Berk and Chickenz fight over food, it's like godzilla vs. king kong.

Today I made Salt and pepper ribs.

I followed the recipe completely-ish, for the sake of science.

The flavouring/spicing seems about right, but the cooking method is fucking evil, It's prone to making the ribs stick, lots of popping and spitting (worse than usual with deep frying, IME) and just isn't convenient.

It's also crap for actually cooking the meat enough to make it safe to eat, and making the meat all fall-off-the-bone-y.

If I do it again, I'll braise the ribs in something vaguely chinese tasting for a couple of hours, then fry it off to get some sexy maillard going on, then stirfry as per the recipe.

I love salt and pepper ribs. I wonder how safe the ones I buy from the takeaway are.

Safe as anything else really. only real risks are from trichinosis, which is damn near wiped out in these parts. and other amusing parasites. but assuming the meat has been got up to 70-odd degrees, they'll be dead.

The real problem with the recipe is that it's not particularly viable for home cooking, still nice though.

Also, what the fuck is it with this country and proper Ramen noodles?

I used to get blue dragon instant noodles, which were pretty good, but expensive and a bit too subtly flavoured.

Recently I discovered that somerfield do some, for a more acceptable 16p/pack, but the flavour powder is a bit sweet, not salty or chickeny enough.

/Grumble.

I do believe that was me. Tasty but I don't eat it anymore - gave me shocking wind.

Not cost effective by any means but I sometimes order a bulk load of stuff from HERE

Normally they have a good selection but I only see 2 types at the moment.

Oddly enough, I use them occasionally myself, panko FTW, but they don't tend to have noodles in dangerously cheap.

Sounds like a drink a colleague described to me today. He called it a 'bloody nightmare'.
