Right, while the Mr. J forwards us the moolah, I shall spend my time resting for my healing roll (assuming Chopper can drive while avoiding the BUMPs). If it takes less than an hour to complete our business and drop off Tashima, I'll just stay in the limo until the hour has passed.

I'm assuming it's late evening/early morning by the time we're all done with that part, so after we've had a sleep-go-tiem I'd like to investigate the loot I picked up from the ambushers. I'm not sure who to talk to about finding out what kind of guns these are or what they're worth, but I think my mentor/mage contact can help me identify what the focus I took from the ork is for.

Right, so:

You confirm the money is in your account, and drop off the Mr J without incident. When you drop him off you see that he is being met by his troll bodyguard friend and a homeless looking guy. Presumably the same one from the bar, but its hard to tell in this light. Either way, they disappear off down an alley out of sight.

So, on to the post-run cleanup. First off the simple stuff:

All of you got 4 Karma for that run. I need to look more closely at the rules for this, as I may be making some house rules about it, but for the moment, that should be fine.

Money wise, I figure it goes like this:

600 each for payment (400+200 bonus)
-850 split between you for paying the SPI for his information. Obviously, that wont split equally, so I'll say -280 each for ease of maths.
-100 for each of you who didn't have a com link on their character sheets (but you do have one now)
-30 from DP for the booze he gave the bikers.
If Deject wants to sell his stolen guns (presumably using DP's Fence contact) that will give you 228 after fees etc.
As far as fencing the box goes: as soon as you start making inquiries with your respective contacts, the SPI sends you a message saying he has a buyer, if you are interested, 2200 - 5% finders fee for him. Lelands mage mate doesn't have any buyers, but would be interested in having a look at the box himself. He cant offer anywhere near that amount of money though, and would fully understand if you turned him down.

As for healing: Deject, you will have plenty of time post run to wind down. You will only need a good nights sleep to shake off your drain stun, so don't worry about tests.

DP: The way physical damage works in Shadowrun can basically be summed up like this: Anything that doesn't reduce you to 0 hit points you can heal from with nothing but a clean environment and time. Basically, 0 hit points doesn't mean dead, it just means dying. You only insta-die if you take more than your body rating *over* your physical damage. So in your case, you have a rather nasty gunshot wound, but nothing that wouldn't have healed by itself (albeit with a scar). The fact that Leland gave you some majikal healings has also helped. You have 3 points left to heal up.

In order to heal, you need an extended test. This is your body*2, with each hit being how many hit points you heal in a day. Keep doing that till you have rolled three hits total, and thats how long its taken you to heal.

This does mean that you have a reasonable chance of fully healing from being almost shot dead in a day. However, think of it like this: Dejects heal spell did most of the work for you, and although you will be back to 0 points of physical damage, what that actually represents is being functionally ok again. You will still have a bit of a scabby mess where you got shot, maybe with a bit of bandage over it, and it might take you a while longer before thats completely healed. You will still be able to do everything as if you were perfectly ok again, hence the "fully healed" damage track. Does that make sense?

I think thats everything for the moment. Have I forgotten anything?

I think I'm going to keep one of the guns for myself (yeah I know more gear we don't have skills for lol) and sell the other two off, unless Al or Chopper wants one of them. Can we get the stats on them?

As for the box, I'd like to take it and the Focus I picked up off the ork mage to my contact and have them look at them, but we'll probably sell off the box through SPI.

All sounds good. I'd go with SPI for selling the box too, that's a pretty decent amount of cash compared to the fee we were paid. I think I already took the booze money off at the time, but I'll check that. I'm not bothered about the gun - I have a big hand-cannon as it is and I can't use that very well. Other than that I'll simply sit and heal for as long as it takes. Hopefully I'll be able to use my karma to get some medical skills.

to make the break down of the 2090 we'll get from SPI easier, I'll just take 696 nuyen and the two of you can take 697 nuyen.

Also, with the guns, is that 228 for all three or each?

All three. You only get 30% of something price when you are fencing it at the best of times. These are blatantly stolen goods, and corporate at that, so you are not getting anywhere near 30%.

Gives you a good idea of the boxes actual value though...

Right. I'll just sell all three I think, since they're hot and I'd probably be better off with a smaller, more concealable pistol (probably a hold out) anyways.

What about the Focus?

Lastly, I'm putting my Karma points into getting Counterspelling, since it seems to be a bit more practical (it uses Magic instead of Willpower like Astral Combat and I can protect others with it).

edit: I think I'm going to buy a Colt America L36, a laser sight, concealability holster, and 30 rounds for it. I've done the Availability test for all of the items, the Colt will take Leland 2 days to find, the rest of the items will just take the 12 hour minimum to get. Unless you've got some adjustments on the prices Joose, the total is 385 nuyen. This should make my cash monies 2159 nuyen.

Joose, has you had time to look at my character? Is he legit?

Also, a heads up to others, my guy is an ex-army weapons/armour repair ork with contacts in the weapons/armour business. He has a shop in the corner of a warehouse filled with boxes of illegal stuff that his mate runs for an arms dealer (His two contacts).

I'll be making a rudimentary mockup of his shop, and if Joose gives the green light I'll be able to repair/mod any weapons and armour you've got, and source them faster and cheaper.

If anyone wants my character bio give me a poke in a few days when I'm back on xfire and I'll send it your way.

Pete: seems mostly fine, bar two things

1)I have a new book with loads more guns and armour and moar related rules and suchlike, which will probably interest you.

2)I have a new book with loads more cyberware and nanites and bioware and suchlike, which will probably interest you.

:) Give me a poke over x-fire, and I shall direct you on how to get at em.

Ooh, new shinies with hangy offy bits you say? :ahoy:

I did think there wasn't much choice in regards to guns or bombs. I'll be home saturday.

I may have cocked up on the spending for extra edge, so you might want to check there.

I'm still working on a mock up of my warehouse shop, I even started rendering it 3d in sketchup but then I remembere I had blender. This may be taking it too far though.

Got round to working out my money, I reckon I get 1017 all done. I'm pretty confident I took the 30 off for booze at the time.

Joose, I hate to keep asking the same question, but you haven't said anything about the Focus I picked up off that Ork mage we wasted. I want to know if it's possibly something I'd want to keep or just sell.

Pete, you should still have my character sheet right? can you think of anything to mod my lined coat with? And if your equipment ever breaks let me know as I can automagically fix things. :)

Hmm, Joose is offline so I haven't peeked at the new stuff yet.

I guess if he let me make the roll I could liberate some trauma pads from an armour jacket and retro-fit them so your coat then meets the 8/6 levels of protection. I'll have a better idea after I've seen the new stuff, you've got various fire/chemical/electricity protection already no?

I've bought a long coat and an armour jacket, I don't know whether they combine in armour totals or I just use the highest but I felt I could change between them for a bit more blending in, or put them both on for maximum protection*.

*Like the Irish guy who uses two condoms, to be sure to be sure.

I do have fire/chemical/electrical protection in my coat already indeed, though they could be improved, particularly the electrical and chemical bits. Also if you could do anything to the gun I bought to make it more concealable or give me any kind of bonus to hit stuff would be awesome. I have absolutely no skill in firearms, but I figure it could still come in handy in a pinch, especially if I can keep it well hidden.

Read the new stuff -

Smartlink, laser sight and some high explosive ammo would make it harder to see, easier to aim and pack a lot more punch. It would take longer to draw if concealed in a smaal of theback pancake holster, but it'd be more concealed.

The smartlink is another 150 nuyen and gives a +2 to ranged. The laser sight is +1 ranged and costs 100 nuyen.

I can replace some parts with plasteel/ceramic if I buy the full armourer facility (100,000 nuyen) that'll be a -2/-4 dice to opposing test for detection for level 1 and 2 respectively, and level 3 is undetectable by magnetic anomaly detection systems.

I can also spray it so it's the colour of your clothing, once it's out of the holster though it's going to be far more noticeable as a result.

Does the smartlink have anything to do with bioware or cyberware? I cannot let my essence drop at all unless I have to. If it's something that I could hook up to my contacts that'd be sweet but otherwise I'm not going to bother.

Nup. It connects your gun to your PAN so thought impulse etc isn't hard-wired.

I can shorten your guns barrel for reduced range and increased concealability, you wouldn't want to use it at longer ranges anyway, not with your lack of skill. :P
