Okidoki, let's see.

Forenrond got three successes on his search roll, but it took all seven hours to complete. Just as the sun is starting to dip beneath the sky he identifies a vague trail of black feathers that have fluttered to the ground. They're long and glossy, and the quill tips are viciously pointed.

Despite all of his experience, Orovan cant identify a monster that fits the description of your "killer", but can identify the feathers as those of a Fiendish Raven.

Glibberig finds one of the "Fletcher & Sons" sons working behind the counter. He introduces himself as Bo (for his father sees himself as something of a joker) and seems mostly disinterested by the bard's merry making. He perks up when the suggestion is made that an arrow needed to slay a dragon rests merely on the fletching. He busies himself beneath the counter top for a few moments and places a cluster of long, four-blade swallow-headed arrows out.
Bo Fletcher wrote:You can't rely on the feathers alone, please! It's the quality of the craftsmanship that counts, how the arrow is weighted, the arrowhead, the firmness of the wood, the stiffness of the steel. Besides, if your friend has a suicide wish strong enough to fight dragons, he ought to be using enchanted arrows. I happen to be an expert.
After his passionate little rant he takes the arrows and places them back in to their lockbox behind the counter, clearly very valuable to him. Bo suggests a few nesting sites nearby that might be useful, but says that Fletcher & Sons only deal with the finest feathers, imported from Highmeadow, rather than the local crap.

Thor turns up very little, unfortunately - but at least he'll have time to chill out with Glibberig in the evening while the others read and scrub around in the dark for clues.

Well if Thor is up for it I'm off to the inn to drink, fight and make my ancestors proud.

Well, at least one of them.

I'll grab a bunch of the feathers and make some attempt to follow the rest.

I can't do much in the dark with my human eyes, but can try tracking in the morning, so I guess it's the bar for now.

Orovan knows that they're creatures that generally come from other, evil planes and take the form of common animals on Oerth. He's not really able to expand much beyond that in terms of its origin, but can tell you that they can have anything up to four-foot wide wingspans.

The Iron Man and Prince's Wine are surprisingly quiet tonight, not empty, but definitely fewer drinkers than normal. The Dwarven inn, Red Beer, seems to be as popular as ever though, not even a serial killer putting the dwarves off their nightly tipple.

Any business here, or just stopping off for a pint and something to eat?

Aside from listening out for any insightful gossip, I have no plans other than having a few beers. I'd prefer the Iron Man, but I'll follow the crowd.

I think Glib went to the dwarven pub - it's more lively and he likes seeing Thor mingle with the little folk.

If that's the Dwarf pub, then yes. Glib will lead Thor through the crowded pub towards the bar, passing through the rowdy revellers within.

I'll avoid Glib I think, for now. Sitting gloomily in the corner like a moody teenager.

 Okay..

Glibberig seems to be leading you in to a particularly raucous part of the bar. There are a large group of dwarves singing a traditional drinking song, smashing the sides of their tankards together, stamping their feet beneath the tables. There's even a stout Dwarven barmaid walking down the table with a keg of ale strapped to her back, using a hosepipe and valve to fill up empties, carefully stepping down once she reaches the other end.

A couple of the dwarves find it amusing that a human woodland ranger has come to join their little party, and a mug of soupy brown liquid's thrust in to your hands, and they start demanding a song of you.

You Spot Glibberig sneaking off, trying to leave you there while he escapes.

Thor wrote:Alas, I have no voice for singing, my Pappy once said it was great for scaring up pheasant, though. Now, my modest friend here...
He grab's Glib's shoulder and hugs him towards him, slapping him on the back enthusiastically.
Thor wrote:M'friend here - happens to be A World Famous Bard!
If there's any sort of group singing at the table, Thor will try to join in, but he is really bad.

Alas Glibberig's attempts to see Thor dance have been thwarted. But when a plan goes awry, go with the flow!
Glibberig wrote:Friends, dwarves, countrymen - a toast! To Thor, Thane of the City of Sesame, and scourge of those with speech impediments! Hero of the Doombrick mine where he saved the lives of a thousand gnomes and dwarves!
Glib jumps on to the table in order to put one hand around Thor's shoulder, mug of ale in the other.
Glibberig wrote:
To Thor! To Thor! Have you heard of him before?
Oh Thor, Oh Thor, show them mercy if you can!
Thor, Thor, with mighty thighs like oaks
To cross him means the end of you of that you can be sure!

Hero of the day his name his Thor
His prowess with his weapon legendary.
If he gets it out he'll leave you sore
But no suggestion here of impropriety!

To Thor! To Thor! Have you heard of him before?
Oh Thor, Oh Thor, a brave and gallant man
Thor, Thor, friend of the animals
Saw a lion with a splinter, removed it from its paw!

Ranger of the woods, stoic and broody
Let us all drink to his good health.
He always helps the poor and needy
He's even made friends with an Elf!*

To Thor! To Thor!
Throughout Glib will have been dancing around the tables, and by * will have made his way over to the skulking Shankley, encouraging any dwarves along the way to dance (preferably with Thor).

Brilliant :)

The Dwarves hoist Thor on to their shoulders part-way through the dance, which doesn't leave him standing too much higher than he would usually be, a foot at most, and parade him around after Glibberig, placing him back down in front of the half-elf skulking in the corner. Drinks are offered to the adventuring trio, and Glibberig has a pouch of ten copper coins placed securely in his hand as a tip for his song-singing.

Any objections to skipping to the next day?

Will Thor and Orovan be sleeping al fresco?
