I have an arm slide, so I can put gun in hand with a free action.

I'll be shooting at the freaky meat beast with my Ares Viper Silvergun, single fire using flechette ammo:

Agility (7) + Pistols (3) + Laser Sight (1) - Cover (4) = 7

6,2,6,6,6,2,4 = 4 hits

Am I right in thinking I get another shot a it's two simple actions? If so:

4,6,1,2,2,5,1 = 2 hits

No idea what damage that does, but it says 8P(f), AP +2

Choice is out of the one attacking Alvrin or the one running past Alvrin. No-one on the cliff path can see the funny shaped meat beast unless you can see through rock.

Also you're at a further -1 for distance until you aim.

Ah right, missed the bit where it had moved away. In that case I'll go for the one attacking Alvrin:

5,5,3,5,6,1 = 4 hits
5,2,2,1,1,4 = 1 hit

The first shot flickers through the upper torso of the beast with enough horse to punch through and emerge out its back with quite a lot of flesh adhering to the splinters. It's badly wounded but still going. The second caroms from its tough skin, slicing a thin welt on its flesh but doing no real damage.

Update so far -

First beast in line was left a blood gouting ruin by Hernandez' 2ex round taking most of its chest out through its spine.

Second beast was tickled by Jon and moved its attention to getting up the cliff towards him.

Third beast has just been ventilated quite hard by Smith, it's still up and moving, screeching at Alvrin.

Funny beast has powers! and has circled to one side effectively cutting itself off from view except to Alvrin.

Alvrin is now at -4 for rope tangle and a futher -2 for the stun. He is the meaty treat dangling a couple of metres from the floor with his ears ringing. And it is now his turn.

Deject, roll them (virtual) bones!

I hate to cut my rope, but in this case I'd rather not take any time getting down. CUT THE ROAP! As Alvrin cuts the rope, he lets out a cry at the top of his voice, a modification of an elven farewell phrase:
Alvrin, in Sperethiel wrote:Ozidano teheron, irenis goronit! Medaron co versakhan, herintasya!
Roughly translated:
Spoiler:
Leave behind your existence, casteless barbarians! Death to my enemies, live no more!

Right, so for avoiding fall damage:

Agility (6) + Athletics (4) - Stun (2): 1, 6, 6, 5, 1, 4, 2, 4: 3 hits.

I'd like to use a point of Edge in this case as I will try to do something a bit tricky. I'll be trying to decapitate the beast interested in me and also get in a swipe on the other one near me.

Katana (7) + Agility (6) + Edge (2) - Stun (2): 13 I'll split that into 10 dice for the one attacking me and 3 for the other one. Further, I'll be attacking the neck of the primary with a +2 DV for a -2 DP, giving me 8 dice for that attack.

First attack: 6, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 2, 6, 6, 6, 1, 3, 2, 1: 10 hits. :faint:

Second attack: 3, 6, 5, 2: 2 hits.

:excited:

My strength is 5, so the DV on my katana is (5/2) + 3= 6P, with the extra +2 on the first one.

the dice roll to avoid falling over is just enough so -

As Alvrin slices the rope he lands on the uneven ground as if he was stepping on to smooth flat concrete.

The attack on the first creature ends its life in the blink of an eye, the razor sharp edge of the blade slicing its neck from its shoulders as if it was made of nothing more than steam. The body slumps forwards from its momentum, spraying more crimson steaming blood onto the snow.

The follow up swing is no less effective, after taking its eyes of Alvrin in its search for a way up the rock face the other beast has left itself exposed, the intricately folded steel snaps into its back near the hole that Smith made, neatly severing through the spine at the base of the neck. It goes down without a sound.

After two brutally effective swings, the only thing left is the shrieking funny looking beast. Ingress' drones can see it. The rest of you on the cliff top are still oblivious, as is Alvrin after his split second of carnage causing.

Roll perception test (intuition + perception + device ratings. No +3 for actively looking unless you want to use another init pass (you guys who picked up goggles also get +3 for the vision enhancement rating))

It's Jaspers turn.

Perception (4) + Intuition (3) + Image Enhancement (3) - Stun (2): 6, 6, 2, 5, 1, 6, 1, 2: 4 hits.

Perception (4) + Intuition (4) + goggles (3) = 11

4, 5, 5, 3, 1, 6, 5, 2, 1, 5, 5: 6 hits.

I'll then ass-sense it;

Assensing (3) + Intuition (4) =

5, 4, 5, 6, 2, 6, 4: 4 hits.

Then summon a horse 4 Samedi Loa to possess my body;

Summoning (6) + Magic (5) = 11

4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 6, 3, 2, 2, 4, 1: 1 hit.

Drain resist:

Willpower (6) + Charisma (7) = 13

5, 1, 3, 1, 3, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 6, 5, 1: 8 hits.

Bloody unreliable Samedi.

Alvrin has visually re-acquired the other beast.

The eagle eyed also Jasper spots a rustling in some bushes and glimpses some of the malformed beast through the trees and bushes.

Slipping in to astral he notices a dark red/black swirl, all knots, scars and the bitter coppery tang of anger, hate and revulsion.

Amongst it all is a bright flame of an awakened soul. Flickering between an almost pure white and a red/black like the aura around it the beasts subconscious is a mix of rage and anger and an almost childlike naivety.

Its got the shriek attack, magic armour, it can exhort the other beasts to fight harder, ignore pain and explode in showers of gore and bone shrapnel and its magic is almost as powerful as yours, it doesn't know how it does the things it does or even why, pushed by a compulsion beyond its ability to conceive. You can feel the beat of its heart as it hammers in its chest like a woodpecker on a bug riddled tree, you can see the thick viscous chemical tainted blood flooding around its body.

The Samedi loa is busy drinking rum and fucking something in homage to the baron, he doesn't turn up. No drain.

Turn one pass two is

Hernandez
Jon
Creature
Anyone else with multiple IP's (I don't think there is)

Hernandez and Jon will now need to make the perception check as part of their move to be able to target the creature.

Autopilot Jon right at the beast.

Hernandez picks up rustling bushes and has a good idea of where it is.

Jon has no idea, merely waving his pistol at the last area he saw the beast.

The creature doesn't stick around after the death of its companions, Alvrin and Ingress' drones see the creature moving with eye blurring speed deeper into the forest, it's roughly the same direction as the spirit guided buzzard went earlier.

Bullet tiem end.

Alvrin's rope is now a few metres shorter, you want to look through the wreckage?

Posted: February 16th, 2011, 20:40
by deject
Might as well. I'll start looking through the wreckage while calling out for Aysun.
HELLO! AYSUN ARE YOU THERE? WE'RE HERE, AYSUN!
Perception (4) + Intuition (3) + Actively Looking (3) - Stun (2): 1, 2, 4, 5, 4, 2, 5, 1: 2 hits.

Since I don't think it's possible to be actively listening while shouting, I'll also make a hearing roll.

Hearing Perception (6) + Intuition (3) - Stun (2): 3, 6, 3, 1, 5, 3, 6: 3 hits.

edit: I forgot to the Stun DMG modifiers.

How long will it take those of us on the path to get down there?

Posted: February 16th, 2011, 21:47
by Joose
I'll relay the creatures off-fucking activities to the team, and have the drones keep an eye on the perimeter. I'll send Picture in Picture to those who can receive it too.

Is there any network activity I can pick up, either from the downed flier or comlinks? Or, for that matter, other drones?

Posted: February 17th, 2011, 0:02
by HereComesPete
Those on path, it curves around the mountain nearby and it could well dip down to ground level a few hundred meters away, or a few hundred kilometres. You do have drones in the sky that could check...

Joose, the flyer is dead. There is a commlink inside that's fitfully bursting garbled info across many frequencies. It's the electronic version of Pnut after twenty cans of tramps piss. :P

No drones, no other manufactured magnetic fields, just general background haze.

Deject - there's more of the creatures piled in the tear in the side of the flyer, they've been drilled with various calibres. In the dim light filtering into the cargo hold you see more bodies.

You could of course shout and then stop to listen - I rolled and you got another 2 hits. A weak groan emanates from the innards of the flyer shortly after your shout echoes off the valley wall and fades into the green and white wilderness around you. It's faint and laboured, whoever it came from is badly injured.

Alvrin to Smith wrote:Doctor, you'd better get your ass down here ASAP.
Hang on I'm coming in! Stay with me.
I'll take a look through the hole in the flier and see what I can see, and if it's safe I'd like to try climbing through.

Deject - a few bodies will need moving to get in the hole torn in the side, once they're moved the hole is big enough. The way the flyer crashed looks like the rear ramp would also go down.

Pants - it's still moving in the same direction, nothing else is forthcoming.
