I dunno, Bourdain is good, but despite the similarities in format, I just can't compare the two.

Oh I am not really comparing them, I'm just expressing a preference.

Burn Notice midseason finale was pretty good, but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CUT THE DRAMA. In fact, just cut Fi and bring in someone that looks good?

I loved it last week when Michael got to slap her round the face.

Fact: they pay someone to felcher her to make her look as good as she does.

They're not doing a very good job - she's got a turkey neck.

I liked the original, but to be honest I don't really remember too much about it (except for the bit where that woman swallows a small, furry animal whole).

The original was like a sci-fi daytime soap...I couldn't watch it.
Atleast the new one has Inara from FireFly/Serenity

I really enjoyed that show. They made a good attempt to complete ALL the storylines in the last 3 episodes but you're kinda were like "WTF?" and "Oh, Really?" then just "/sigh". It really needed at least another full season to be done right.

Don't know if anyone is watching series 2 of True Blood, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Seems a lot more focused now that all the characters are established.

although, last episode...man there was so much going on to jam in one episode...I wish they would have stretched that out a bit but, oh well...still my favorite show atm

Defying Gravity?
Seems to be a fairly realistic attempt at portraying very near future space travel, with nods towards some proper sci-fi alien stuff going on. It's a bit slow, not the best written stuff ever, but very shiny graphics and some not entirely awful acting. Very light on the totty, but then hey ho, it's trying to be intelligent. Can't see it lasting beyond a series because of that, the networks having killed anything with a brain involved in its production for the last few years. (Kings... Grrrr... Just grrrr.)
Just got around to these, not bad, but I fear it might be a bit too soap in space, we'll see.

The Cell - A three part documentary about biological cells, not the jail or terrorist kind, on BBC4.
It was quite interesting. The first episode covered the discovery of cells and the development of microscopes. Later episodes will cover more recent discoveries about the content of cells and stuff. I can't remember what I learned about this at school, so I can learn it all over again.

Didn't catch it myself what with falling asleep but my mum watched some of it, she's a microbiologist by training and is still interested in that field. Said it was veh good, should be used in schools to teach kids more because it's better than the OU and bitesize series.
