Its possible in theory. Depends on how far away they are, how many other noisy bits of equipment are between you and them and how solid the connections between the different modules are. Someone on the other side of the most immediate doors would probably have heard (unless the other side of the door is hard vacuum, obviously) but someone right up in the Command pod or way back in the engine room possibly wouldn't have. People out in the habitation ring are even less likely to have heard as they are far away, theres going to be multiple bulkhead doors between you, and the structure of the ring technically floats free from the structure of the rest of the hab in order to rotate. Its hard to say. You can do a hardware or knowledge roll on something appropriate to Habs if you want to be more sure about it.

Sorry, me probably.

Bear in mind that you are floating, because at least in this section of the hab you are in near zero g. You can still try for sneaky though: carefully and gently moving from handhold to handhold rather than ricocheting around like a humanoid pinball.

The door from the section you are in (the one facing towards the rear of the station) hisses open with minimal noise or fuss. According to the details you have about the station this section you are entering it labelled "Greenhouse/Recycling" with the first section you should reach being labelled "Recycling". Fab, as soon as Unnamed enters the area he recognises much of the equipment in here as indeed being standard recycling gear, designed to take biological waste, condensation etc and separate it into drinkable water, fertilizer for any on board greenhouses and trace elements that can be fed back into the fabricators. This section is about 20 meters long, with the radius of this section of the ship also being about 20 meters wide. Down the centre of the room runs a utility conduit, starting just next to the hatch you have just come through and disappearing off through the wall towards the rear. This is attached at various points to the maze of pipes, vats, catalyser units and the like, presumably bringing in the waste products and pumping back out the cleaned up end results.

The other thing that immediately hits you is the stench. Pants, you would be OK anyway being a synth, but Fab, unless you are still sealed up in your suit you will get a -10 to all actions whilst in this area because of how bad it is. Its a clear and obvious sign that the gear in here is not being properly maintained at all. Its still apparently running, but you would guess that the water its making would taste foul, the fertilizer probably isn't ideal for the plants and the amount of useful trace elements being sifted out is probably minimal. If someone doesn't give the whole thing an overhaul pretty soon it will probably die completely within a month or two.

There is no one in the room that you can see. There is a small, non-airlock style hatch in the wall opposite you.

I think your guns are better so I'll take the hatch. I think I'm still in my suit as the air is still not back is it? (That we know of)

Just realised I could have described that better: The room is basically a cylinder with exits roughly central at each end. Its like a pipe. The end of the pipe you entered (towards the front end of the hab) is the airlock door, the other end (the rear) of the pipe is the hatch. Just in case that was unclear.

You can still be in the suit if you want (I would assume you would be just in case). The air is back on, although its "thinner" than it should be because the systems are still catching up, but it would be breathable. Your suit will be telling you this, there are basic atmospheric sensors as standard. Even if you had opened the suits helmet it is set up to automatically seal you in again in an emergency like decompression, so it needs sensors to be able to do that. The suit will also be telling you that the air in the room you are in is kinda stinky, although it probably words it in a more scientific fashion.

So, fab going forward, pants covering your rear?

The hatch swings open easily and quietly. (In case you are wondering, I am doing stealthy sneaky rolls for you as you go. I don't want you to know exactly how successful you are :) )

The next section is much larger. Its still about 20 meters across, but its about 50 meters to the other side this time. The opposite wall is made of a heavy translucent plastic, through which you can just about make out some machinery and a green glow. There is a hatch in it, similar to the one you just opened.

This is clearly the hydroponics section. Large windows have been cut out of the hull, now filled with high strength reinforced glass, although this far out from the sun the windows wouldn't let in enough light to grow anything by anyway. Even if they did, these windows havent been cleaned in ages and are covered with condensation, dirt and occasional patches of mossy growths. Only very faint starlight is making it through.

The plants that are in here are instead lit by banks of artificial lighting built in to the plant trays themselves. The trays are stacked up in tiers three or four deep, radiating in from the walls between the windows towards the central utility conduit that continues on from the recycling room. Everything is growing in a mad tangle: at some point you would have been able to move quite easily between the trays but now the only clear route through is down the middle, immediately around the utility conduit. There's five or six (its hard to keep count) small drones flying around maintaining the plants and machinery in this room. They are harvesting crops and feeding it into a processor roughly in the centre of the room, attached to the utility conduit. You can see the thick nutrient line running from the processor into the room beyond the plastic wall.

From the way some of the plants are kind of pulled out towards you, it looks like this area did lose its atmosphere fairly suddenly when you popped the doors, although its mostly recovered now. There doesn't seem to have been any major damage done to the plants in the process.

You actually going in to the room? Both of you, or is Pants hanging back?

Can I do a roll to see if any of the plants have been pushed the other way, or in a way not done by the air pop? i.e. by a person?

Haha, ive got this mental image of your eyes sticking out like Bender from Futurama.

You don't see any signs of people, but its damn thick cover in places. You can certainly see places where someone could be almost entirely concealed from you in here.
