Yeah the Type 88 is terrible. The VSS and SVU are pretty good though. The VSS can be used like an assault rifle and it can do some serious damage.

Trying to work through getting the LMG bronze stars last night was painful. I'll be glad when I can go back to being an engineer.

Last night, and quite a few nights previously, I've noticed a big increase in the amount of smack talk generated by 5punkers. I mentioned it on TS last night, as some of you will know. I lnow that there seems to be quite a lot of idiots playing BACON, and that baiting them is all part of the 5punky fun. For that to work, though, we need to appear both more intelligent and reasonable than them, and actualy be reacting to something. It seems like what starts as random idiot baiting often seems to be interpreted as a green light for some people to start smack-talking and acting like dicks. Last night I saw comments with no provokation from 5punkers which, if I didn't know them, would have given me the impression that they were the kind of morons I came to this site to avoid. I spoke out about an incident where we were all kicked from a server because of the reaction to a polite but incorrect accusation from a server admin regarding our behaviour. He may have been wrong, but he appeared to me to be trying to be reasonable, and while some 5punkers reacted with amused incredulity others acted like knobs, so we all got kicked.

Guys, we're supposed to be a friendly gaming group. We do not give that impression when playing BACON. We come across as elitist and obnoxious. I can't ask offenders to stop acting like dicks, that's their prerogative, but if you do want to act like a dick then could you please remove your 5punk tag so that it doesn't reflect badly on the rest of us.


The sad thing is, I expect if I looked hard enough I could have just linked to a post I made in BEEF several years ago instead of writing this.

The LMGs are great, red dot sight + magnum ammo on all of them* results in a decent short to mid range cannon.

*apart from the MG3 and MG36,

For the MG3 I found the heavy barrel a bit better, lessened recoil, workable at mid-long ranges.

For the MG36, no need for an RDS, so take the faster running mod, it'll make people whine.

I think I just unlocked the red dot last night, so I'll give that a go.

It works pretty well.

Also worth knowing, the shorter the ranges, the longer the bursts you can get away with, at about 10-15' Just hold the trigger and cut through squads

I'm fairly sure I didn't type anything stupid last night, but then I was painfully drunk so I may well have done.

Regardless, the guy with the ghosting thing was actually quite reasonable toward us in terms of clan stacking and the idiot things we wrote before he challenged us (I think possibly on the insistence of rusty blades) about our possible ghosting.

As such I'm going to head along to their site and say what we're about, mention why we do what we do and that we'll attempt to refrain from smack talk if they let us back on. Because their server is low ping and generally filled with better players that offer more fun in a game than a lot of the servers we're on.

It wasn't really anyone in specific, and when it started getting out of hand I mentioned it on TS at the time. More the odd comment here and there by a few people that added up to an aggregate. Randoms will just see the 5punk tag and think we're all retards, and while we know we're being ironic by mocking the idiots, the nice randoms who we'd like to play with again will think we're the same as the people we're taking the piss out of. Not only that, if we're ever to attract new members through games we'll only attract undesirables like that.

I'm still not clear on what ghosting is.

Bacons doesn't let you do that though really, and some servers have killcam off altogether (which I would have killed for last night so I could figure out where the fuck Roman was murderising me from on Valdez).

You're too polite, I know it was primarily me. It was an overreaction to him accusing us of ghosting, as I do tend to say crap like that when someone is being an idiot and accusing people of hacking or glitching or *insert whatever we're not doing*. Granted, what he said wasn't the typical monger "omfg u r hacking, you're cheater" stuff, it was more reasonable but I still reacted like I normally do even if it wasn't really warranted in that case.

The using the smoke grenade launcher as your primary weapon is fucking great fun.

It was mainly you on that occasion, but over the course of the night and nights previously other people have been guilty too. I'm trying not to concentrate on particular events and address the general problem.

Especially when you start getting kills at actual noob tube ranges. Or even up close when you see a body cartwheel away pouring smoke from their recently deceased selves.

I've met the wrong end of a smoke grenade launcher thanks to a few 5punkers.

After some testing, I've come to the conclusion I don't like the SPAS12. Too low ammo capacity coupled with the humongous recoil and the eon it takes to be ready to fire again leaves you fairly dead in most situations where the other shotguns would come out on top.

Only ~15 more kills to get silver with it though, gotta push through the pain.

Go and use the NS2000, then apologise to the spas12.
