Ah what the hell, we got a while before we roll out so I might as well spill the beans! If I get killed on this run you might never know and we can't be having that now can we?
Jon grins
Don't know if any of you guys have ever heard of the Euroracer Championship? It's essentially racing using cars that anyone in the public could buy and going to tracks all over Europe. Obviously they're souped up the arsehole for the racing but they look the same so the punters like them! Last year was my rookie year and I managed to win the title with 5 races remaining and went celebrating
Jon pauses for a moment as if recalling all the details
Jon continues wrote:We obviously had champagne on the podium and then a huge party in the pits with the whole team and more stunning groupies than you can possibly imagine. Well the party went on well into the morning and during the night I entertained a few of the groupies back in my motorhome. I was obviously buzzing from the win and the alcohol and maybe one or 2 other stimulants which made me a bit trigger happy for want of a better phrase. Well basically this bitch was talking to someone the next day and I overheard her laughing about me being the "quickest she'd ever had" and I fucking lost it. We happened to be in our garage and I put my hand on the nearest thing and went for her. Unfortunately for her this was a carbon fibre brake disk. I.e. light enough to swing properly but heavy enough to do some proper damage. Last I heard she was in a coma and last they saw of me was a trail of dust heading for the airport. Saw on the news when I landed over here that I was a wanted man and had been stripped of my title which just about wraps up how I ended up running with you chaps

Heh, I should have known a bitch was behind it. Most females out there are nothing but trouble. What I don't understand is why they can be so damn sexy. Nothing but troublemakers, the lot of them. Hell, a woman's the reason we're working for the Yakuza right now.

Past -

I'll get a Yamaha Pulsar out of stock for Grimmie. It's got no availability rating, I guess it's super easy to find. ¥150. Total cost to Grimmeh is ¥1,650.

Plans - Threshold 20, interval 2 hours. Logic 4 + Armourer 5 = 9
+2 AR plans, + 1 superior tools, +1 working location = 13

2 hours - 6 hits, 4 hours - 5 hits (11) 6 hours - 7 hits (18) 8 hours - 5 hits (23) So that's 7 hours.

I'll start at 6am, grab a quick kip afterwards and be ready to roll all suited and booted at ~2pm.

I'll fit the 'nade pistol when it arrives.

Now -

Sorry to hear your predicament Jon. Sounds like she needed a slap the cheeky bitch.
Frank sparks up a red apple with his trusty old zippo.
Frank wrote:Anyone else want a smoke? I know these dudes don't partake, but I've not asked you new guys yet.

I'm always looking for a woman to get me in trouble. I might ring Pappa P's bodyguard, ask if she fancies a drink and a fuck. She looks like she can mix it up a bit too.
Frank gestures to his workbench. Once more pristine and sparkling fresh. Except for the big gun sitting in a rubberised metal tray on top.
Frank wrote:Nik, you're new and improved gun is ready. It's there on the bench top. You know how to clamp on so I'll get suited and booted and then we can roll out.

Chopper, finish the beer and get your game face on. It's time we hurt some people.
Right, full armour and weapons go! I'll take my super-tazer too. :)

After Frank gets suited, N-zo calls him over...
N-zo wrote:Had a look see, and I can't tell you who tried to hack you, they did a wipe job on the logs.

I did manage to node track though, and it turns out it was from a com like these ones
He shows Frank the com strapped to his wrist, it's the equivalent of a £5 pay-as-you-go phone from Tesco
It's an old trick, you bounce from your com, to one of these, hack a third com, and the trace gets muddied enough you don't get caught, could be anywhere by now, but I doubt with the guy who used it.

Bung a few creds on it and hand it to a random homeless guy, boom, instant trace clearing. as a runner, don't leave home without one really...

Frank to N-zo wrote:Cheers dude, nothing we can do about it right now I guess. Seems strange and not even slightly a coincidence that this happened as soon as we emerged from the meet with the yakuza mage dude.

If it does happen again, is there anything we can install to er, I dunno how you'd describe it... Entice them in and plant a trace on their signal so it homes in to the source past the different coms?

It sounds like it'd take some fancy stuff, but you seem to be pretty shit hot with computers.

As for coincidence, I'm guessing it was just down to us having our PAN's on broadcast in that neighbourhod, and you were unlcky enough to get somone doing a cash sweep. The Yakuza will already have looked into you before you got there.

Frank to N-zo wrote:Balls to it then. If it does happen again or keep happening then maybe it's more than some little prick playing with with some computer toys. If not then no harm no foul.

Nothing we can do right now so I'll just crack on.

Just out of interest, you get a picture of this Yakuza we're going to lean on? Would speed the process up if he's not at home when we kick his door in. If not no worries.
Looks like Roman, Grimmie and I are ready to roll!
Frank wrote:Right gents, plan of attack.

We'll roll on over and when we're a few blocks away we'll park up somewhere quiet and assess the ground from there. Then we move in and either hit the guy if we know he's in or wait and watch for likely suspects. Don't hesitate to end any fucker who looks to do us harm. Try and put any resistance down quickly and quietly. No doubt he has a few mates around.

If it all goes to shit then we kill 'em all.

Okey doke. In an attempt to keep things simple, I'll do you guys at the thugs place, then Al and co at the club, then you guys in the Barrens. If I try to do both groups at the same time, its just going to get messy.

You arrive on the street that thug boy lives on without incident. Its in a fairly low rent part of the International District, and the street seems to be mostly japanese-owned. His place is in a small apartment block: Not slummy, but not exactly high class either. The sort of place that probably has proper maglocks on the doors and a security system in place, but isn't exactly going to start spewing combat drones out of the air vents if something kicks off.

The ground floor is taken up by a laundry place, his address is for the third floor. A door to one side of the building leads up to the apartments, with an intercom to one side. There's a middle aged woman at the door at the moment, struggling with too many bags, the door and her comlink.

I dunno the stance of normal Japanese to meta but I guess it's more a yakuza hatred than anything else.
Frank, to Chopper and Nikolai wrote:Ah fuck it, that's the way in right there. I'll follow up, keep the door open whilst this chick chews my ear off. Don't forget to bring my gun and webbing in too.
Frank abandons his shotty and webbing and jumps out the back of the van and runs over to the middle aged woman.granny. edit She's not that old, calling her an old dear roman!
Frank wrote:Excuse me, do you need a hand? I'm just heading upstairs to see an old friend and I noticed you were having some difficulties with those bags. let me carry them for you, I insist!

How tall is this building? Is thug boy on the top floor?

If he's on the top floor I'm going to climb up to the roof via a drainpipe with a view to abseiling in through his window.

Climbing (4) + Assisted Climbing (2) + Easily Climbable (1) + Strength (4) = 11

6,6,1,6,1,5,3,5,2,6,4 = 6 hits (I hope it's like that when it comes to combat!)

Infiltration (3) + Agility (5) = 8

2,3,6,3,6,3,6,1 = 3 hits

If he's not on the top floor but it looks like I could still crash his window I'll do the same. If all of that is ruled out I'll just go through the door and sneak up to the room.

Infiltration (3) + Agility (5) = 8

1,5,5,1,6,1,4,3 = 3 hits

Oh, I'll also turn on my area jammer with a tight band exclusion so that I can still talk to Frank and Nikolai.

The buildings not huge, but it is 5 floors, making him about the middle. They do have crappy little mini-balconies in front though, you can make it up to his quite easily if you want with those rolls.

The lady smiles wide and jabbers away at you in happy sounding Japanese. Doesn't let you take her bags, but as she nods happily at you and she bustles up the stairs, you are left with the door still open.

Frank waves a goodbye at the woman and mutters to himself whilst propping the door open.
Frank wrote:Yeah, you too lady! Nice to meet you, maybe one day I'll understand you.
Heading back to the van Frank sparks up a red apple.
Frank wrote:Okay, I'll come and grab my stuff and give her time to disappear out the firing line.

Nik, you got any drones you want to send out? I think we'll have this guy begging before too long. Maybe keep an eye out on the streets around us, see if any of his mates turn up.

Chopper, get onto his balcony an have a sneaky look. Make sure no-one sees you. I'll head upstairs and knock on his door to get his attention away from his window, when you're ready let me know. Then we bust open his door and window at the same time and beat the shit out of him. If he's not in then see if you can break in without tripping any alarms.
Frank grabs shotgun/webbing and heads inside, then closes the door behind him. A quick scan of the building plans then destination 3rd floor, apartment number ? (I take it we know this) and knocks on the door when Chopper lets him know he's ready on the balcony.

I'll have a scan of the surroundings near the apartment we intend to hit. Any cameras for intercoms, locks, open doors, people who really shouldn't see the shotgun, angry men with guns etc etc.

Intuition 4 Perception 3 = 7

+4 cyber eyes +2 actively searching = 13 = 6 hits

+4 cyber ears +2 actively searching = 13 = 4 hits
