Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Eraser will go over to the terminal her physical body is plugged into.
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
It isn't plugged in, just slumped over the panel. Well, at least not as far as you can see.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Persuade: 2,9,+5 = 16Question then, Ms. Phantom Lady: these dead people here were killed by you, sometime after your own death, when then tried to presumably "shut you down". I don't doubt that you could do the same to us, but I'm perplexed as to why you would want to. I'll be truthful with you, we were sent here to investigate an odd signal, but if you intend to "live again" then I suppose that solves all of our problems.
You'll have noticed that we didn't come in here all guns blazing, even after that neat little trick with the teleportation and the fake gun man, so maybe that's earned us some token of trust. Maybe not, but I'm willing to try.
So tell me - how did you die, and how do intend to be re-born?
Christ, Dirk would try and reason with Hitler.

She coos.

See I was thinking about trying to cut some of these wires just to see what would happen. Ideas?

Meh, I was going to shove a grenade in her coat and pull the pin.

Just so you know, this room is only about 7m square.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Did we frisk the lady corpse? I can't remember. If not I'm going to try and do a full forensics job on her (note: Death Suit is covering every square inch of flesh!)
2,8,+6 = 16
Oh, also looking for ID, wallet - anything to identify her.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
You did the forensics on her, I don't think I mentioned what any of the corpses were carrying, although you'd have found that at the time. She's strange, no ID or money. She does have a small, rusty, curved blade and what you could only describe as a pendant made from barbed wire bearing the tooth of some kind of animal.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Lets try:
SLA Info check:
Roll(2d10)+5:
10,2,+5
Total:17
Rival Company:
Roll(2d10)+1:
9,3,+1
Total:13
Streetwise:
Roll(2d10)+5:
5,9,+5
Total:19
So Eraser stares at the pendant for quite a while, it looks like he's thinking, he's definately drooling more at least.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Specifically about the pendant? You've never seen it before, or heard of anything which describes it. However, you've heard of dark cults who worship blood and claim power from inflicting pain on both themselves and others. You've only heard of them as creepy stories which nobody ever really takes seriously, but then again who would take the idea of Hallowe'en Jack seriously if you didn't all know that he most certainly is the bogeyman?
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'm sensing we're stuck. I can shuffle things along a bit and drop a hint or two at the expense of a few hours game time if you like.

Well, assume Eraser tells the others about what he can remember.
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'd assumed someone would have commented OOC even if they weren't sure if they knew it IC, if it had led anyone's train of thought anywhere. Forum games are so easy to derail. In a real game we'd probably have ordered pizza or something while we mulled this over.
Before the conversation with computer dead woman turns into an uncomfortable silence with everyone shuffling their feet, the screens go blank and the room is cast into pitch darkness. You poke about and smoke and bicker a little, while Hal plays games on his phone or something outside on his own. After a few hours Eraser, preferring to sit in darkness rather than using the UV or IR the rest of you are likely using, notices the faint blue flash of a spark from one of the walls.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Eraser wanders over and pokes the blue flashy sparky thing.
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
There's an almighty bang and a bright flash as Eraser channels three phases of 240v from the industrial mains at the shattered breaker to the floor of the chamber. The shock knocks his huge bulk several feet backwards onto his back. Smoke hangs in the air from the scorched ceramic of his armour, and most likely a great deal of the electrical components therein.
TSD:
Take 4 AD to your arm and 2 AD to each leg as the electricity burns its way in and out of your armour.
Your armour is disabled until repaired. You can still move in it because of how freakishly strong you are, but it's very heavy. Your speeds are reduced by a third, melee attacks are made at -5, ranged attacks at -3.
Take 4 damage to your arm, 3 to your torso, and 2 to each leg.
Make a PHYS roll at -6.
