My missus thought that was the funniest part, she then explained to me that BYU is a mormon university.

If me and mrs joose can get her character up to 30 by tonight, does anyone fancy taking me and her though the first dungeon? Neither of us have dungeoned in GW yet.

I shall be around for this.

Not played for what feels like ages (in reality it's probably about 3 weeks), but I'm sure after a few hours practice I'll be back to being average. I may even bring my elementalist for this one, though I've only ever soloed with it.

I usually start gently and then work up to the rough stuff.

But around 7 is good for me.

Last night's dungeoning went ahead with predictable hilarity. We actually did a lot better than the last 5punky run - we didn't wipe at all on the first trash mob. In fact we finished Ascalon story mode in around two hours. We then went on to bungle our way through a first stage fractal before canning it at the end boss of stage two because we were all naked and getting nowhere. The recovery in the face of near-wipes, the outcries of panic and confusion over TS, and the headless chicken tactics made for a very amusing night.

Indeed, it was a lot of fun. Having never done a GW dungeon before it was rather interesting. I liked the way it was all a bit more fluid: the tank/healer/dps rolls were still there but who was filling which roll changed from moment to moment depending on what was happening/who was dead.

I think I enjoyed the normal dungeon more than the fractal one though, and not just because the fractal one finished us off. The normal dungeon had challenging bits, relatively easy bits and puzzle bits all mixed together, whilst the fractal one was just puzzle after puzzle. The fights reminded me of those boss fights you used to have in old shooters where there was one way to kill the guy and if you didn't do it that way you were screwed.

I think most boss fights in MMOs tend to be like that Joose, some of the ones in WoW were particularly punishing.

If we have more than oen group of folk interested we can do some of this next time. I think there are achievements attached to each one but I could be wrong, avoiding walkthroughs could be interesting as the emphasis is on puzzle with these explorable dungeons. There are some damn complicated jumping puzzles too.

And I found this too, shows the timers for all the massive world events like Claw of Jormag and Shatterer.

Oh absolutely. My point was more that the normal dungeon had a pleasant mix of stuff, whereas the fractal was essentially one puzzle deathtrap after another. It's not that I didn't like it though, just that I prefer the pacing of the normal one more.

I'm assuming it's free for all, I certainly put things in there I don't need but think others might.
