Wolf Creek? I was really impressed by it. This one looks like it could be good as well.

I didn't like Wolf Creek, although the fact it was based on a true story was creepy. Razorback was ace though.

I think with wolf creek it wasn't much of a shock horror one but it was fucked up. Films like that freak me out more than torture porn or fright films because it seems as though it could very easily be based on a true story.

The loved ones looks pretty similar and I'm sure I'll watch it, then wander round the house turning the lights on and jumping at noises like a big soft shite.

Wolf Creek was mostly what I was referring to, I can't immediately think of any others that I've seen (I probably have) but it was as Pete said; it was fucked up but not in a retard way like hostel films.
What I like most about horror films is that they scare me, as that is what they were like when I was a kid. Now that I'm an adult (lol not really) I find very little things scare me so when a film comes along that does manage to scare the shits out of me I consider it an accomplishment.

The Shining is still probably the scariest film I've ever seen, and that's as old as I am. The 80s ruined horror (bad 80s, I still love you), and the Japanese inspired horror of recent times has gone some way to recovering, but Hollywood has stunted any real creativity that was in them.

I've liked Vincent Cassel since La Haine, and this does look rather fun (though odd for a film trailer to have no dialogue).

Looks pretty cool, and Cassel is a pretty good actor even if he often gets typecasted. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a film where he isn't some kind of criminal.
As for the no dialogue, that's probably because the publisher wanted to avoid subtitles in their trailer as to not put people off. I'm not saying English speaking people immediately dislike subtitled things, but that's the impression European film makers often get

It's true though. Had this argument at work only yesterday:

"dur, if i want to read i'll read a book but i want to watch a film durr"

I seriously doubt they have ever read a book that isn't a sports autobiography.

The same can actually be said for France, Germany, Italy, Spain and a number of other countries. In their case it's nothing to with subtitles, but they do dub EVERYTHING in their own language. French tv for example is astoundingly bad; if it's not some poorly dubbed film it's a fucking talkshow that goes on for three hours or episodes of Seinfeld (again, dubbed)
This might also explain why countries like Sweden and the Netherlands (every country above France ((Germany and our Southern half not included)) shows their programs in the original language) have such excellent English skills when countries like Italy will often have very little skills in said language. They try though.

As for the subtitles thing; I can actually understand that if you're not used to it it'd be a bit weird, but you get used to it pretty fast.
And it's certainly better than a dub.
