There is the small matter of we don't know where the fuck we are going, which is why we turned back in the first place.

DP, what attribute ids Navigation linked to? I could try defaulting.

It's a knowledge skill, how does defaulting work again?

I made a roll: 6,8 = 14
My knowledge attribute is 7.
Am I at -3 for an active skill or -6 for a passive skill? (pg 112 Rule book)

I'd always go for an active roll at -3 for defaulting. I also didn't realise none of you had navigation, which I suppose is a decent reason to not want to go down there. However, you do have partial maps of the area that Deject found so you think you've got a reasonable idea where you're going. It's actually pretty much directly below you as far as you can tell.

OK then, if there are no objections, let's just head down.

Grimmie takes his best guess at a route down, and you set off through the dark, damp tunnels. Mostly they seem to be the crumbling remains of maintainance access tunnels, and occassionally you have to stoop to get through sagging sections, or clamber over debris and old machinery. You also notice that after a few levels your comms start to break up and then fade to static. You're alone down here.

Could the person at the front please make a Detect roll.

I also get a result on a Detect roll: 10, 6 + 4 = 20.

I'll assume Grimmie is at the front then. As you pass through a tight section of tunnel, you notice the tips of a pair of chitinous mandibles sticking out from the debris on the floor. Were it not for the fact that these are the only things not made of metal, plastic, or concrete you probably wouldn't have noticed them.

Guys, are we assuming this is weird bones and shit on the floor, or something I should shoot?

I reckon it's some sort of creature waiting to eat us - a bit like a trapdoor spider type thing.

Pop a cap in its thorax!

I'll pop my goggles down and look for the hottest spot to shoot, preferably something vaguely head shaped.

While I wait to see how effective Grimmie's shot is I will draw my long knife and start recording.

Well on thermal it doesn't look much bigger than a rat, and the round pops into the debris with a wet thud and a pus-coloured splat of goo.

Hmmm, maybe cutting it off is the best plan?

I'll take a swing at the left mandible with the long knife.

I think I killed it. You can probably just pick it up.

Make sure it doesn't drip over me though.

When Deject hits it it seems to trigger some sort of reflex twitch and the remains of a large insect shoots out of the ground and takes a chunk out of the concrete wall before flopping onto the ground. It looks kind of like a fat, legless centipede. With a large hole in it.
