I definitely want to get a sponsorship with FLYING JELLY ATTACK CONFECTIONARY. I shall ask Mr. Haynes if he would make the call for me.

Maybe for an ad spot I could make a flying leap and smash some criminal in the head with a jar of jelly or something like that...

Grimmie's going for the ever so generic "Budget Facepaint Co.", I'll be asking Haynes to make the call, and I'll provide a small portfolio of my favourite designs. 8)

As for skills DP, what's your take on "Evaluate Opponent"?
Does it take long to 'use' or is it an instant thing?
It might've been useful today when we saw Mr. Burns Victim.

Thinking that I have a climbing kit and no 'Climb' skill, I may need to invest there, too.
Hide? More Auto-Support too?

I do have a question about the FEN 4044 armor in your Hardware book dog pants. It says it comes with the scout helmet, and seeing as I already have one, is there anyway I can buy it without the scout helmet? I think I'd like to get that one to be ultra-sneaky, but I'm guessing the scout helmet thing is added cost I don't need.

Also, what effect would the Wraith Raider coolant suit have on gameplay? It doesn't really say so I don't know if it's worth buying or not.

Grimmie:
Evaluate Opponent is an instant thing where you can get a measure of the various combat skills someone has. Of course you have to see them fight first. I've not seen it used extensively, but it's one of those skills which could be useful in the right circumstances.
Climb is a very useful skill. SLA's urban setting often makes combat (and a lot of other things) very three dimensional as I'm sure you've seen. Hide can be useful too because it's not just used for hiding as such but also for moving unseen.

Deject:
The helmet could in theory be sold on to a third party, which might net you maybe 800c back at best, but then you wouldn't have the stealth coating on your head. You can't easily sell on your old helmet because it's custom made for you, and getting that coated with the stealth 'paint' would probably be more expensive than the whole suit because the paint is actually a mesh of microscopic LEDs which is embedded during manufacture. You're better off just buying the suit, which unfortunately means having another scout helmet.
The Wraith coolant suit is really more of a roleplaying thing. I might (I can't remember) have put a rule in place where Wraiths are more easily stressed without one because of how hot they are. Should you find yourself in a situation where you are abnormally warm you'd certainly get negative modifiers, but the temperature of Mort is tolerable to Wraiths (they shed their fur to keep cool).

All:
With a squad public image of 2 and Haynes helping out on the business side of things those of you who are SCL9 can get an SCL9 sponsor. Potentially you can actually get two, but that might be unwise because if your public image drops you can lose one again so it's best to keep a buffer point.

well, aren't all the bits I've bought for my scout helmet modular? They should be able to be transferred no?

Yep, you can do that.

sweet, I think I'll get that instead of saving up for the SilverBack as it's 1000c cheaper and it's still got some fancy toys. The active camouflage and IR masking stuff looks well handy.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! just FYI, it was Dirk who spotted the blood dripping from the "bed" if I remember correctly.

also, someone run a spell check on that, lol

nice write up though. I was slightly happy bagging a Vevaphon and saving Dirk from death.

It was.

Pfft, minor edits as soon as I finished reading.

I couldn't remember so I took a guess. As for the spelling, it took me about two hours to write that due to various things, and I'm utterly nackered at the moment so my typing's suffering.

I might be slow and a bit thick (lol durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) but I just found this *supposedly canon* map of Mort, which I thought was pretty neat.

That's possibly the one off the Cubicle 7 site, which is wrong. There's maps of Mort (city and planet) in the Mort sourcebook. I do like the detail of that, and it's not far off. The cannibal sectors are all seperate though, scattered around the edge of the city, and Mort isn't on the coast. They've got the relative scales of the sectors right though.

Yeah I was looking at different and I saw this in the thread though I thought one of the posters said that this wasn't the fan made one but I probably misread the post or he was wrong.

If it's the map I'm thinking it is, Angus Abranson put that map on the official SLA Industries site. Problem is, Angus doesn't play SLA so didn't know it wasn't accurate.

Thanks again Pants for a great leaving BPN, I love the action packed ones, that was balanced just nicely between investigation and shootiness.

I gain 250cr and 4xp.
My SCL is now 9A.4

I lose 9cr through replenishing bullets.
After my armour shopping spree earlier that leaves me with 600cr.
Assuming Deject isn't a tart and pays me back the 100 he promised, then I have 700cr.

(359 -9 +250 +100)

I wait with baited breath for news of our film footage!

Edit
For your records, I also have PP8 (Exo Heavy) armour and refunded my blocker.
I also spent one kickstart, which leaves me with 4.

Yes you'll get the creds you spaz. :P

And yeah that was a good BPN, it didn't go as bad as I thought it was but some tense moments to be had there, lol. Really though I enjoyed it.

After paying Grimmie the 100c, topping off my ammo, and replacing the smoke grenade, I now have 174c. Still I now act on every phase in combat, so woo me! I can now theoretically chop through dudes almost half as fast as Gerald with melee weapons now!
