Well, you get your gun ok, and pass some scary looking fuckers on the way out to your car. Four guys in military spec armour, and a mage. You can tell he is a mage, as he has inch thick glowing transparent armour around him. They all have the Firewatch logo on their armour. Other than a brief glance at you as you pass, they ignore you.

Gates are open to the compound.

So now what?

You certainly can. Are you all heading anywhere in particular?

Possibly a steady pace and a few corners and then lead foot it to somewhere out the way we can get the bug woman looked at by majical types, see if it's bug spirits or summat else? We can drop the contract body and all the bits off at our (probably) friendly dude-thing that lives in the sewage farm.

Hmm. I was always working on the assumption that our meat-receiver (snigger) would be able to take a look at the bad corpse. However, I realise I may have been mistaken. Anyone have any magical contacts?

I could ask my mentor, see what he knows on the subject. I would rather not get him directly involved with stealing bodies and such.

You don't see them because I am not asking yet. :P I was posting from my phone while on the bus so I don't have a good idea of what I want to ask just yet.

Actually, I'd like to assense the body in more detail first. Stupid -1. :(

Assense (4) + Intuition (4) - 1: 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 1, 4: 2 hits.

You dont really get much more than you already know. Dead, human, woman, you dont think they were awakened but its kinda hard to tell. Looks like they were being possesed by something before (or possibly during) being burnt to death, but god knows what. Possesion spirits tend not to leave you with a messed up face. Its left an astral signature that is vaugely familiar, but you cant place it.

I'll call up Benedict and ask him if he would like to take a look at the body. I'll explain everything as best I can. If he wants to take a look, we can set up a meeting point somewhere we both know but isn't directly tied to us.

I've just had a thought, can we check these bodies and make sure they're not bugged or anything? It would suck for us to go through all this to find that we've been tracked this whole time.

Benedict will take a look, and tells you to meet him at the back of a coffee shop you sometimes chat with him at. He'll be there in an hour.

Yup, and theres several ways you could do that:

Just regular looking, which would be a perception test with the "actively looking" bonus, no negative modifiers.
Scanning with a MAD scanner or similar might pick something up, depending on size.
If theres a bug actively broadcasting, N-zo or possibly Nik could scan for the signal, if they have the right skillzors. It would be just like looking for a node, albiet one thats broadcasting in hidden mode.

Alrighty, well I dunno how tests work, but the rulebook has a (4) next to the description for scanning for a hidden node, so I guess I roll 4 times?

Electronic Warfare (4) + Logic (5) + Scan (3) = 12 dice

1,3,4,6,2,3,3,4,6,1,4,4 = 2 hits
4,1,2,6,3,2,3,4,1,5,1,2 = 2 hits
3,1,4,1,2,2,1,2,6,5,5,4 = 3 hits
6,6,2,4,1,4,2,2,2,2,6,4 = 3 hits

Edit: Let's have a gander, too.
Perception (4) + Intuition (3) + Actively looking (3) = 10 dice
2,6,1,5,5,3,6,2,2,2 = 4 hits

Once we have scanned these bodies let's go meet my friend and see what we're up against. Now if you excuse me, headache is killing me. Anyone need anything before I zone out for a bit?
