Right then motherbitches.

Deject, you're hugging the floor whimpering at the weird of it all. The ground is flexing beneath you like you've had a skin full of something hallucinogenic and sold in dark green bottles to mask the colour. Additionally, you've decided that your team mates standing next to you are now huge, towering creatures capable of standing on you and not noticing.

Being so small any damage you take until you recover your senses will be doubled, and all your physical stats are halved. On the plus side all your mental stats have doubled in a borrower type fashion, so you should be able to pull yourself together quite quickly.

I'll let you know when you can roll again.

Fab, you scraped by so it's brown trousers for you too. Luckily for you your perception is helping you fight the insane angles and impossible distance changes as the roof expands and contracts around you. For your first shot your gun is suddenly incredibly heavy and the distance to the critters is doubled if you want to fire at them. I need a strength test to lift the gun and you'll be at extreme range to hit, which is -6 modifier.

Joose! Strangely unaffected by the excesses of the hellraiser/escher-esque geometry you struggle to range the beasts but your sniper rifle scope seems to offer a haven amidst the madness, cutting through the dimensional hoohah. You fire into the far distance and smash a wing from one truly huge creature, its shrieks are all but deafening as it tumbles out the air to land with a ground shaking thud.

It's landing appears to have caused a dust storm, there's a cloud of thick nasty stuff heading toward you, none of you can tell if the bat creatures have noticed you however, despite what your senses are leading you to believe.

You manage to focus through the mess and raise your seemingly huge gun toward the cloud of dust, unfortunately you can't see anything now other that momentary indistinct shapes in the cloud that might be huge creatures.

Deej -You're still hugging the floor.

Fab and Joose perception tests if you want to see anything/work out whether you're goingto get blown away by the dust cloud.

Do I need to add modifiers for actively looking or anything?

If not:

Perception (3) + Intuition (3) : 2, 3, 3, 5, 1, 5: 2 hits!

Er, might as well, give it a +3 for actively taking your time to look.

Joose! You doing anything?

The cloud is close now, if you possess goggles and/or breathing aids of any kind I would suggest donning them.

Deej - impending cloud spikes adrenaline around your body, enough that you can possibly jump up and stop being crazy. A willpower and perception test please.

Joose - ???

Shazam!

Everything snaps back toward far more normal numbers, you feel yourself growing toward a normal height and the panic that gripped you subside.

Amongst the cloud you see the darker shapes moving, for you they're quite large but not some sort of bat dragon thing with an immense wingspan.

Remember your breathing/seeing apparatus if you have it, bullet tiem starts when the dust hits.

Down below on the library floor - A few hours of diligent searching through the books Aidan has singled out from amidst his frantic book piling a series of clues that fit in well with the idea that the amulet is part of the the stones of Al Qaum. Phlegastus appears amidst you with a wash of air and the smell of damp earth. You wanted to show it before showing Aidan anything.

We did. In fact, I'm not sure showing Aidan what we've found might be wise at all.

Roman, do you concur with Pants' thoughts?
Phlegastus wrote:So, you have been searching diligently through quite a few tomes that Aidan has found, have you discovered anything of value?

Up on the ceiling the cloud has now surrounded you with a sound like torrential rain. You feel the dust/grit around you as it exterts pressure on you from seemingly random angles. The visibility is at times so you can't see a hand in front of youtr face, others it opens up as eddies in the dust show you clear patches. Ther's a constant hissing as the grit pours over you, the comms have dropped to patchy at best. Each of you is pretty much on your own if you start moving, as it is you're still close together. I'll give you one last chance to mention any masks, goggles, nose filters etc, or you'll suffer the full horse of the dust storm.

Bit like this

Joose - Are you going to do anything?

Deject - your stats are back to normal and your perception is still fired up from the adrenaline. This will drop to almost nothing however if you don't don any protective equipment.

Fabbles - Your suffering a bit from the perceived weight of your gun, but it's wearing off as your concentration is now on the clouds around you. As with deej, mention anything you think might help with the dust (I can't see your char stuff again) or you'll suffer as a result.

I have nothing to protect me, lol. Will covering my mouth help?
What the fuck is that?

Posted: December 6th, 2009, 16:57
by HereComesPete
If you have anything to wrap around your mouth then I'll accept that, but a hand is a bit too easy to rdop away in a firefight. If you can cover it then you'll stop some of the choking mess being breathed in.

Joose has a full face mask/re-breather thing as part of his suit, shame Lex is still standing there looking at nothing.

Well unless my Urban Explorer jumpsuit has anything (I don't think it does) then I am again SOL.
