Yep. Despite the Shiver's reluctance a Hammer APC arrives in fairly short time. It starts you off on your journey Downtown in style, arriving off the Gauss train in Bergmann sector a few hours later. There's no APC there, although you do see a few Shivers.

The contrast between Uptown and Lower Downtown is as startling as ever for the fast transition. The Gauss station is little more than a platform with armoured exits, and despite the security there still seems to have been a number of scrawny vagabonds taken up residence. The Shivers are making a half-arsed attempt to move them on, but are only half paying attention. When the squad emerges from the train they stop and look round.

I assume we're walking from this point on? "Blending in" will be impossible, but we should try and approach the facility with as little attention/exposure as possible.

I like the Shivers, they get such a poor rating I think.

Hm, new character concept... plan...

A Wraith Raider in FEN 4044, a Stormer, Shaktar and Human in Heavy PP and a 'Waster and Ebon all step off a gauss train in Downtown.

Should be the start of a joke, but no, I don't think we blend in.

The Shivers look at each other, and one shrugs;

CS? You aren't necessarily near a CS.

But yeah, Cannibal Sector 2.
Shiver wrote:Weeeell, bit of both really. We get hordes of the fucking things normally and nobody gives a shit. These ones managed to stop a Gauss train though. Must be someone with a job on it or something. Heard over the net that they'd put out a Red BPN for it. Take it that's not what you're here for though.

Hmm, normally I'd ignore things like this and just head straight to our main objective, but does anyone wonder if maybe they're souped up Carriens, high on Shattered up Doobrie food?
Dirk wrote:Any idea where they stopped the Gauss?
Depending on the answer, can we tell how far that is from the facility?

I hadn't thought of that.

The Shivers aren't sure, but can tell you the line. It only looks to run nearby in that it's in the same sector. Even so, it's about a mile and a half from your factory at its nearest point.

Might be worth checking out. We should ask Daniels if he thinks the tainted food can have similar effects on Carriens.

I shall discretely call Mr. D
Dirk wrote:Mr. Daniels, we're en route to the location but we have just been informed of a disturbance nearby. A group of Carrien have managed to stop a gauss train. I'm not sure this is normal behaviour for them, and we're wondering if this could possibly an effect of the Shatter laced food.

Do you want us to check it out, or just head straight to the facility?

Daniels wrote:Sounds plausible. Make the facility your priority, chase up the Carriens attack if there's evidence of a connection. Did you speak to your financier yet? I negotiated some terms with him.
