The Royal Pains pilot was pretty good, I'll definitely be watching it for a few more episodes. Worth a look.

Red Dwarf and pick a law and order out of the hat?

You seen the shield? Coming to an end but I've liked it pretty much start to finish. Watch all the xfiles again, it's worth it.

2 other new shows I've been watching seem pretty decent:
The Listener
A telepath that starts to use his powers for good. Plus a couple hotties for supporting cast.
Mental
Supposedly "radical" unorthodox psychiatrist medical mystery drama. "Radical" meaning..."caring" it seems...as that is radical these days.
I don't see either of them lasting...but they're a bit fresh from the other stuffs...

Yeah, seen Shield, and about X-files, yeah, I've been doing that, since there's about 6 new channels starting every year and for some odd reason they're all using the template of "X-files + Four-year-old House season = win".

Excellent ideas, I shall check them out.

on the other hand, I'm currently watching the third season and it's not very good after he gets out of prison.

To tell you the truth...I'm done with the side stories. A 1 hour commercial TV Show plot is just not worth it to me. Maybe if they upped the side stories to like 2 shows worth, it might have the chance to become complex enough to be worthwhile.
Otherwise, get back to the main story!

Oh yes, bum notice is serious business.
It's still pretty good, oh and can we have the new bitch replacing Fiona on a permanent basis?

If they did that the season would be over in 5 episodes. I love the show as is.

Short runs can be good, but with some stuff (like burn notice) you'd not get as far as liking the characters enough to give a shit.

Dexter was good doing the "main" story for 2 seasons. (I'm not sure about 3rd season, it didn't quite grab me and I only watched a few)
But 2 full seasons of main storyline with subplots happening during it is much more appealing than 3-4 full seasons with 1/2 of it being complete semi-fun filler episodes.
Amblin wrote:But sometimes brit series are way better for their short runs and great story telling.
Its not about how long it is, its about how good it is...

I really need to catch up with true blood, I liked what I saw, but lost interest pretty quickly for some reason.
