Leyland and Chopper make their way to DP and his waiting Limo. As you are walking calmly down the street, there is a deafening roar as the T-Bird pops over the warehouses at the other side of the street. Its a normal anti-riot set up, with a large riot-hose mounted at the top, but swinging their way out of the back are several security guys: they look similarly dressed to the guards inside, but with bulkier body armour and much more serious faces.
The Bikers are already scattering in every direction, but the newly arrived security team look more concerned with securing the warehouse than chasing anyone down.
In all the chaos you make it to DP's limo without them apparently noticing you, and get in.
So, do you want to contact your Mr Johnson to arrange a swap?

Either they give us the box back (sans demon of course) or they give us a hefty fee in lieu of it. I'd opt for the latter, given that I know shit about selling funky magic boxes.
And if not, well, I'm sure someone else will be willing to buy it off us.
Al wrote:Not sure if that'll ride - we weren't told specifically what it was they wanted so we've no real claim to it. I'll give it a shot though. They might be eager enough to get the contents to not care, although they might not be keen on opening the box near us. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I'm that keen either.

Ok, so:
You attempt to contact him, but cant establish an audio link. After sending him a text based message informing him of your success, he replies with a hearty congratulations on completing your task so quickly, and gives you the address of the drop off. Its a bit of wasteland just a few minutes away from your current location. He says that he will be there to "verify the integrity of the item" in person, and will transfer the fee to you once he is satisfied.
So, whats the plan? Who's going, who's staying in the car, etc?

I've got an infiltration skill, but I don't know if that will be any use for quietly scouting out the area.Chopper wrote:Fuck this, I smell a trap. On the other hand I don't like the thought of driving round with an evil demon in a box.
I reckon we tell him that we'll be there in half an hour, and quickly scout out the area before hand. We haven't got time for any decent recon, so I might just skirt the periphery.
We'll need some sort of contingency in case this all goes tits. Anyone got any ideas? Big, open wastelands aren't really my ideal environment for brawling.

Dog pants, what's Al's negotiation skill? Leland's is 5.Leland wrote:I'll stick with you mate. Chopper's right though, this seems too fishy. I say Chopper should get set up to cover us, and we can meet the guy face to face. It'd probably be a good idea to park the car maybe a block away and hoof it there. I'll use my enemy detection spell as we get close in case we're being sold out. We should all be prepared to rock 'n roll though, if this is a setup they're going to need some hurt put on them.

My negotiation is 4. Damn, that was my thing too.Al wrote:Here's an idea then. Why not get a similarly sized and weighted cardboard box and take that to the negotiation. We leave the real one on the boot of the car and see what goes down. If they take the fake box and nothing happens, we give them the real one. If they pull something they get nothing. Alternatively, if they pull something we just open the fucker in their faces.
I'm not happy with my plan, but I smell a rat too. Might just be first run paranoia though.

I only have 5 because of the particular Mentor Spirit I chose. I get +2 to combat spells and any social skill I choose (mine being negotiation), but if I break a promise I get a -1 modifier until I can fulfill the promise or atone for my failure.Nah, if it's not a come on we don't want to look shady. I can just hide it under my coat. We know that they probably want the contents of the box so if the try with the funny stuff I can make some snarky comment then pop it open in their faces.

Just to be sure ive got your plan right:
You are going to tell him you will be there in half an hour. You will be using that time to get there ahead of him and scout the place out a bit. When the meet actually happens, deject will have the box under his coat, an he will be doing the negotiating. You are going to try and get the box back after they have got want they want out of it.
Correct?
