It's a shame you have to turn regen off, rather than opt to turn it on. I bet most people wouldn't have noticed if it was off by default.

I just spent five minutes trying different felcher setups to try and find our server and it only appears if being really specific. Anything slightly broader and it doesn't. Neither did some others like EBS. Some serious flaw in the functionality there.

I've no idea how Jimmington is a killing machine with the shotty, I find it terribly hit and miss.

Unlocks? While I wouldn't describe myself as a killing machine, having a torch/laser and IR scopes have helped me. The IR scopes are particularly useful for scanning areas and spotting, and I've found it takes a lot of the guesswork out of storming the corridors in Davamand Peak and Op Metro.

Well early indications are good. Since I made that change we've had a few randoms come and go, which happened anyway but only maybe a couple a day. Probably just people joining an empty server to change their settings, but it means we're likely to be more visible.

So far so good with the shotty, bit once more unlocks from the assault rifles appear as people rank, I think my days will be numbered. I use the reflex site and the torch but am beginning to get more unlocks, can't wait for that sniper scope on it...!

However, more importantly, not sure if this is a wind up, but I hear Wake is part of the x-pack. This cheers me greatly.

Sounds good. Sharqi? Is that the TV station one? That used to be good fun as well. All I need is the grappling hook and the Zip line from SF and life will be good.

Yes, Sharqi is the one with the TV station and the awsome sniper crane :)

Sharqi was indeed the TV station one (and had the big crane in the middle). One of my favourite maps. The Special horses kits were pretty good, I'd forgotten about those.

Proof positive I think that those changes people suggested were for the better. 12 people as I leave for bed (alas).

I just quit for the night and it was pretty much full :w00t:

We need to get on there even if it's empty though to entice people.

Edit: that was a nice little 2v2 we had Pants. That is until that twat Pete came and spoiled it!

Editedit: I unlocked the F2000 tonight and holy jebus is it good.

Well I seem to play well after some fruity cocktails and a big kebab. So if I go pro gamer it's shish kebab and passoa and limeade for me on big tourney nights.

As much as getting a decent game on our own terms, the server is about advertising us to potential 5punkers. Everyone was well behaved last night, which puts us above most servers. If we can have a bit of banter with the ransoms too we'll probably find ourselves on a few favourites a-la Enemy Boat Spotted. But with less rules.

My geeky cousin mailed me with this: Maybe true, maybe bollocks but thought I would post it here in case.

"

Found at original forum post @ http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=18339338 - it has links to new Nvidia drivers that are meant to help stuttering in BF3.

here's a tip

go to wherever you have BF3 Installed
mine is: D:\Origin\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 for example

then select the 'bf3.exe'

right click on the exe and go to the compatibility tab

then tick the box that says

"Disable Desktop Composition"

press apply

this will disable windows aero when you open the game and frees up vram

I game at 2560X1600 on 480SLI and sat at 1500MB Vram usage all the time

doing this trick frees up 3-400 mb vram meaning the computer is not bottlenecked

maxxed out, BF3 runs at 1200MB vram usage at the very most.

hope that helps some of you "
