Jasper didn't even wait for the doors to finish opening, scurrying inside huddling into his coat and cursing under his breath about the cold.

Where's the booze?

The toy has AR vision? Thinking about it, its not like it's got some bio-eyes in it.

They're wireless. As are the cameras/guns inside the door.

Surgeon? 'Fraid not doc. All we got is those two 'tards. Our last doc went for a walk a few months back and she never came back. Left her two orderlies and enough drugs for them to be perma-fucked.

The clinic is three up from the bar. I'll get you sorted in a sec, just gotta close up first.
I shall take it as everyone is inside and the door is closing up unless anyone has an objection.

Yup, all drones do. As do most vehicles. You don't actually need AR glasses or anything either, you can hold your comlink up and see AR on the screen, although that'll make you look like a hick in the big city.

Not that camera/gun access looks to be that useful now. I'm tempted to get in them anyway, just because I can

Just as the huge door closes up you hear the guns cycling and a spit second of fearsome metal death being unleashed down the corridor behind the door. Then all is silent, with the faintest of vibrations in the floor suggesting that the guns are still firing.

Beyond the concrete barriers there's now a few guys watching some monitors and pointing.

I'll go and have a look at the monitors then.

Ok, *now* I'm going to try and get camera access. Is viewing the video feed passworded or is it public? If it's public I'll just jump on for a look for the moment.

Joose - feed is public and being broadcast to numerous points across the town.
Doc, the things you see on the screen are what we call the freaks. They started attacking a couple weeks, typically after the doc left so we've not managed to get any solid evidence on what the fuck they are, other than some samples we sent back on a shipment that said they were basically human but all messed up.
What you see is a myriad of different humanoid shapes, some tall, fast and looking like they've got no skin, some fat and blubbery with too many eyes and mouths, some that just seem like lumps of gristle with far too many limbs sticking out, no two are the same. Each one looks like something Basil Gogos would draw after a good honk on his crack pipe.

They're mindlessly rushing the door. The heavy calibre turrets are tearing massive chunks, smashing limbs and a couple are firing bursts of sticky napalm into the mess.

Soon after they're all dead. the guys at the screen let out a few whoops and howls then start to wander off, looks like the show is over. An overlay appears on the screens stating 'cleansing commences in 30 seconds'.

Do they serve rum? I'll fire up a cigar if I have any left. Who's about in the bar?

Did we transport to Halo???
So we're supposed to figure out what they are and how to stop them? How dangerous are they up close?

Bar -

Those of you who headed on have walked across and slightly up a street that looks like a western movie set, raised wooden verandas quite a few feet above the road. The tarmac is visible and there's a faint heat haze from it, looks like they've got under-road heating round these parts.

The bar has swing saloon doors but also a concentrated air stream just inside the doors that acts like a barrier between the cold air outside and the warmth of the bar. It's got the usual long wooden bar with shelves of bottles. There's only a few people in a corner booth. It's a gold rush town with all mod cons.
There's a few bits and pieces left in the docs place but I'll get the gents to fish a few of the more intact pieces out the mess outside and sent over there for you as well. Best to work on fresh meat huh!

They're strong enough to rip an arm off or punch through an unarmoured body.

Roight then, once all the bits turn up I'm going to do a few tests on them:

First off, Knowledge rolls on Biology (for information on their fleshy gubbins) and Chemistry (to see if they have been treated with chemicals, or how they react to certain chemicals). Do you add any other modifier to Knowledge rolls?

Biology: 5,5,4,2 = 2 hits

Chemistry: 3,3,1,3 = 0 hits

So, now on to more specific skills. Medicine to find out what has been done to these boyos, and Cybertechnology to see if they have any implants.

Medicine (4) + Specialisation (2) + Logic (8) = 14

5,2,3,6,5,6,1,4,3,1,3,5,4,5, = 6 hits

Cybertechnology (4) + Specialisation (2) + Logic (8) = 14

3,1,2,6,5,1,5,6,1,6,2,4,1,2 = 5 hits

Oh yeah, and a Perception roll, just because.

Perception (4) + Intuition (4) = 8

4,1,6,3,1,3,6,5 = 3 hits

Yeah a drink sounds alright. I'm betting it's going to be a little bit before my skills will be of much use anyways.
Until someone comes up with some better info on WTF, I'll just chill.
