You, not a word to anyone about this - we know where you drink and I'm sure you don't want us to cause any trouble.
The latter being to the partially defenestrated Mauro.

Briony throws some jeans and a coat on. The view's probably lost on everyone but Dirk though.
Briony wrote:Come on, I'll show you where there's a decent breakfast round here.
She leads you to a little greasy caf. The bacon's synthetic, but it's not too bad. It's empty apart from you guys.
Briony wrote:So what's going on? Why would Ms Sumner try to set me up? I mean I work hard, and I've never upset her. I don't get it.

Briony wrote:I'm Ms Sumner's PA. I take messages, run errands, whatever it is she needs doing that she doesn't have time for herself. It sounds shitty, but it's a good start because you get to know people and if you show a bit of initiative you can get a pretty decent job. Not bad for a Downtowner. Can't say I remember anything unusual happening though.

Horrible but unsubstantiated feeling: Sumner is getting it on with Mauro and wants Briony out of the way, and we just left Mauro on his own.

Briony wrote:No, we never socialise. Well, we did bump into her in a bar about three weeks ago, but apart from that I don't think I've even been to the same office function as her.

Briony wrote:Erm, well I'm not sure. Not a lot really. I approached her at the bar and said hello. She was friendly but didn't seem to want to stop and talk. I think Mauro was being a dick and was putting her off. He was being really sulky all night because he said it was a posh bar, and she kept shooting him looks.

She starts to sob.

Dirk offers her a comforting hug.

Awwwwwww yeah!
Dirk wrote:I'm sorry, I'm just pursuing all avenues of inquiry.

The reason we're asking is that Sumner tried to raise a BPN to have you investigated as a subversive. We discovered she never had full authorisation to do so, and suspect she has ulterior motives for doing so. I want to know what they are.

Sex and money are the usual reasons. Do you have access to Mauro's call records or anything?
Who has eyes on Sumner at the moment? I am now worried that Mauro is the link and he's going to blab that we just busted his door down.

She accepts the hug (what a nice, caring Ebon boy you are), and rubs her eyes while shaking her head slightly.

She nods and opens up her Oyster. It's fairly unassuming - not a commercial model by the looks of it. She works through the process of calling up the records, and it looks like she's never done it before because she has to configure everything as she goes. There's a small charge for the service, which she looks a little glum about paying.

When she gets to the call records the numbers seem to fall into mostly three or four different people. Another small charge later and she has names. None of whom are Sumner.

Piss, I'm a tad stumped now.

Don't suppose those other names/numbers are any we know?

If we ping these names and numbers over to Deej, would he be able to identify them using his computer skillzorz?

Depends on who they were, but there's a fair chance he'd get something on them.
