I've just been browsing the Dice forums for Bacons.
I was expecting it, but general consensus is that M60 is overpowered (although reasons vary) but the noob tubes are a definite problem.
Interesting to see what happens in the next client update.
As a side note, spawn raping seems more previlant in this game, but from the conquest maps I played, it seems to be a function of map design more than anything else because there is often only one route out of a base, or only one place to spawn from.
I remember at least BF2 for most maps having multiple uncappable spawn points for various sides in order to reduce the rape.
Also beef seemed to have bigger combat areas, or at least the boundaries extended a bit further out, I do find them a bit restrictive in Bacons.
Edit: I also think the M1 Garand is now broken, it just wasn't working earlier today at all.

I don't recall multiple spawn points for BEEF, but I could be wrong. I do recall some terrible spawn raping, but that was usually met by serious admin intervention. Part of the problem I see in the spawn raping is the fact that, like you say, the maps are smaller. I've found myself having to back off a capture point in an IFV so I'm not pumping explosive rounds into their spawn point. Other than that I like the smaller maps, they're more about the fighting than running about playing musical flags. Being able to spawn on any squad member also encourages the spawn raping too - not only do you have to hunt down the dick in your base who hides in a building shooting people as they spawn, but now you have to get his whole squad too. On the other hand, on conquest maps I like it when idiots spawn camp - I rarely spawn there and while they're doing that they can't be out capturing points. It's a fucker when they steal your vehicles though.
As for the Garand, I've never had the loadout option despite it being in unlocked, and I've never been shot by one. I think it's always been broken.

I'm not too bothered about the spawnraping, it's annoying but I can't remember playing a game where spawnraping didn't occur. You can't really expect that everyone takes the moral high ground.
I'm also pretty sure BEEF didn't have multiple spawn points, other then the airfield on maps that had jets.

Been playing.
Looks like you can't fix or kill mcom points with a windy gun, not a huge surprise.
However, I was thinking about the stat padding thing.
It's totally possible to get at up to 390 points per mcom point destroyed, on an empty server.
Need assault with C4 (with both asplosives upgrades)
Make squad, give attack order.
6x C4 on point.
Detonate. (180 points with order)
Rearm self.
6 more C4.
Arm point. (if it lets you, sometimes doesn't, for some reason) (40 points)
Detonate. (170 points)
Works out at 3000+ points a map (depending if it's 8 or 10 points), plus best squad, ace, and a couple of mcom destruction pins
Downside is you can only do it as assault, and it's stat padding, but not at the expense of anyone else, so not massively evil.

Flying ATV's anyone? I've seen videos of people filling a crater with c4/mines, then driving friendly vehicles over them. throw a grenade or blow the C4 and watch the (manned) vehicle heading out of the map!
Also, berk, you can try that mcomm trick with Recons (C4), Assaults(C4), or Engineers (Mines). And if you're a medic, try picking up one of the other 3 kits. AFAIK the points count towards what kit you spawned with, not what you haver picked up at the time!

I've looked into this chopper at the #1 spot, and he's a stat padder. There's videos of him doing it in BEEF on Youtube.
Not that it's hard to cheat in BACONS;

Needless to say, I hope no 5punker would consider actually following the links on that and using those hacks.
Lastly, the mine thing with the M-COMs. I've tried it several times with absolutely no effect. Am I being a spaz, or are we just going off hearsay? It would be nice as an engineer to have a little bonus points cow.

I thought it needed to be Assault so you could replenish yourself.Anhamgrimmar wrote:Also, berk, you can try that mcomm trick with Recons (C4), Assaults(C4), or Engineers (Mines).
