Just a quick question, since I'm ambidextrous, can I have both my Blackhawk and my katana out and use either/or? I guessing yes but I'm not sure about penalties, etc.

Yep, with no penalties.

With dual wielding, you can use one weapon or the other at no penalties, or you can use both at the same time by splitting your dice pool between the two. So, for instance, if you had two guns and a dice pool of 10, you could fire both at 5 each, or one at 3 and the other at 7, or just one at a time at 10, or anything in between. Not sure how that applies if one of the weapons is a gun and the other is a sword, but im guessing it would be negative modifiers a go-go.

Ish.

Generally if you're holding both but attack with just one then there's no penalty. If you attack with both in different phases of a round, no penalty. If you attack the same target at the same time with both weapons then it's not really covered in the rules. I play it as you're rolling different skills but there's more severe modifiers. I'll add it to the wiki.

In that case I'll draw my katana with my left hand. I'm not planning on using both, more just being ready to use either as appropriate.

Are we in the tunnel now? If so can we see anything yet?

You can already see.

The tunnel is lit slightly better than the path, beyond the sharp turn in the tunnel there's a long straight uphill slope with a very large and very heavy blast door, some cameras and some very large calibre guns are festooned across it in various mounts gimbals etc. The tunnel bears numerous chips, scorch marks and faint stains.

Well this is well defended. Don't think my katana would do much to those blast doors.
Alvrin holsters the Blackhawk and stows the katana before approaching.

The camera whirrs as it focuses on Jon, then the guns clack as they load and the faint whine of servos can be heard as they wake up and point at the group.

Though a hish of static you hear a voice
What the fuck? Where did you all come from?! We thought the bleeding slitch was the only one on the transport?
The guns stay pointed at you.

We just got dropped off by that transport that just bought it. Aysun brought us here to figure out what the fuck is going on. Shit, she's probably dead, but we're here, and it'd be great if we could get inside. Let us in damnit.

Are the cameras/guns/doors hardwired or wireless?

Might seem like a crazy question, but most things in SR are wireless by default, and require someone who know what they are doing to change them to hardwired, so its worth asking at least :)

Joose, you can't tell with just a glance as they're sprouting from the door stanchions and the rocl walls.

After a long pause where the voice undoubtedly has a discussion with other people... honest.
Aaah, you're the guys brought in to see about the drones and the freaks. Is the cargo still at the site? Those useless medic bastards said they saw nothing. I'd be surprised if your friend isn't worse now they've got hold of him. Bunch of fucking monkeys, good to see a real doctor for once...

...Fuck it, you haven't screamed or blown up yet so I doubt you're freaks. Get in out the cold and quick...

...and stop kissing that camera you soft headed tart.
The door begins to slide down into the ground and the guns re-focus over your heads. The corridor flattens off behind it and a series of low interlacing barriers made of concrete are a few metres from the door, there's more guns and cameras here too, but they're looking past you too.
If anyone's a fan of the drink or gamblin' I'll be in the boozer later. Once you're through the tunnels you'll not miss it.

Don't worry about the cargo, we've got it under control. Just do me a favour and move inside sharpish, the freaks will be on the way.
