Interesting. Looks like they're trying to recapture the original. I've a lot of respect for Rodriguez - he's certainly no conformist. Silliness is his trademark, so I'm not sure where that fits in with the Predator, but we'll see.

There is a character called the Super Black Predator - god I hope he has an afro.

My friend linked me to the other video that's available, it's basically that trailer interspersed with RR talking about it.
A number of things raise small cause for concern:
1) The minigun. It worked in the first partly because it was an 80's film full of body builders, but also because it was sparsly used and kinda simply there. I hope it's not been stuffed in as some sort of homage.
2) That last scene. About 20ish predators all aiming at the chap. I think it might be stepping away from the lone hunter bit, don't know whether that will be a good thing.
3) I had a look on IMDB at who was playing the predators, three of them, biggest of which is 6'7", not the 7'2" of Peter Hall who starred as the predators in the original films, nor the 7'1" Ian Whyte who was in the AvP films.
I know some of it can be got around by clever camera work but there is something more imposing about using massive chaps for the Predator role as they'll dominate the human characters in scenes where they are toe to toe in terms of sheer size. It's of minor concern though as platform boots can solve that issue.
I'm actually looking forward to it, hopefully it'll not be a modern hollywood action romp and actually convey the fear of being hunted like the first one did.

Ooh, I like Luc Besson. Looks like The Mummy, which I also liked.

I keep reading that as Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Ball-Sac

My initial take on that was that it's a reaction to the guy trying to give up or escape or saying "I'm not playing your game anymore". My thinking being it's a kind of training arena for noob predators and has the overseer preds stopping the game from being too easy.
But then it is called Predator
s, hopefully it won't weaken the individual preds, like Alien
s did.
Adele Dry White's adventures look fun, too. Love the Mummy.

Although in Alien they were using jury rigged weapons, versus the fully automatic 10mm explosive tipped ammo firing pulse rifles the marines used in Aliens. But yeah, hopefully the inverse ninja rule won't apply here.

Arrgh, how odd. I was only looking at Short Ciruit videos yesterday (got there from Bonnie Tylers "Total Eclipse").

Bonnie Tyler?
Buzz, what little integrity you had left has just been hopelessly destroyed, devoured, spat back out and stomped upon.

In fairness, I got linked to the amusing literal translation video again and went from there.

Human Torch in Fantastic Four) is set to play Captain America in an upcoming film! What the shit?!
