Oh, I was mixing up Alex and Caine. I meant the Caine guy who vanished.

Yeah, Alec and Xa are in their base and Caine is the one that buggered off all slippy like.

Reckon our targets will be meeting with him again at some point.

Right, quick check before I carry on:

Nik is in his truck, parked nearby.
Frank is in your temp safe house.
Chopper is in a nearby bar.

Where are N-Zo and Lelands meat bodies at the moment?

I believe I have stashed my body at Frank's shop.

Ditto, but N-zo hasn't gone full submersive yet

Righto, thats pretty much what I thought.

Leland sort of finds Caine. Outside Niks van.

Nik hears a knocking on his van door.

I promptly poo in my pants and scuttle into the back of the van to activate my ferret, and have it point out of the back door.

Does anyone think I should answer it?

Given no idea of distances I'll leap into action and head over there as fast as I can, but I have no idea how long I'll be.

Might as well answer the door, it's kill you there and then or wants a chat, better than getting blown up in the truck I guess.

Would Detect Enemies work even though I'm not the one that would possibly be on the receiving end of violence?

Okay, I'll open the door slowly, and with my thickest accent..

Caine is standing straight on to the doors, arms folded, mirror-shades covering his eyes, looking grim. No pun intended.

Around him are about a dozen orks and trolls, with a lot of obvious cyberwear on show (perception test needed if you want more details on numbers etc). Caine seems to be the only human in the group, and given his size (and the amount of facial piercings/tattoos he has) it would be easy to mistake him for ork. There are a number of handguns and close combat weapons on display too. Nobody is moving, apart from a rather skinny orc at the back who is hopping around and giggling a bit like he has had too much coffee. He keeps pointing at you and laughing. Bit wierd.
Caine wrote:So you are the little man with the flying spies, eh? Expected someone taller.
Theres a ripple of subdued laughter from his goons.
Caine wrote:My name is Caine. Me and my boys would like to know why you are following our good friend.
Frank, it'll take you 3-4 mins to get there, running, from the safehouse. About the same for Chopper.
Would Detect Enemies work even though I'm not the one that would possibly be on the receiving end of violence?
Not sure. My initial reaction would be "no", but I think I'll say "it might work". If they are not your enemies, it wouldnt work, but if they are enemies of the group in general, then it would. So in other words, you could use it but it wouldnt be reliable.

Perception: 3

2,5,2,6,1,4,1,1,1 = 2 Hits
Nikolai wrote:Same reason anyone follows anyone. Is Job.
I don't know why I follow, just told to keep an eye on him.
Maybe is for protection? Was not told.
He gives a little shrug, and uses his internal brainmeats commlink to yelp for backup.

Running to Nik as quick as possible, however when I get nearer I'm clambering stealthily on to the nearest rooftop.

Infiltration (3) + Agility (5)

5, 4, 2, 5, 1, 6, 5, 3: 4 hits.

Climbing (4) + Agility (5)

6, 6, 5, 3, 4, 6, 3, 3, 4: 4 hits.

I think I would have had extra die for the climbing roll as I have gear for it, but 4 hits will do for now.

I'll slow down a corner from Nik and catch my breath, then stroll round and up the middle of the street and stop a short distance from the back of the group, with my shottie pointed at the ground.

Fotr when I get there.

Int4 + Per3 + 4cyber eyes +3 actively looking = 14

4,5,1,6,5,2,5,4,6,6,5,1,5,6 = 9 (That wotc roller is bust surely?)

Jacket, not so good.
Joose did his crazy 10,000 rolls on the WOTC roller, and found out that it has no bias at all.
I still use it for convenience, as I usually have a browser window open at all times.

I do at home, but I didn't send me a copy at werk yet. I'm not sure it'd work either given they've disabled a lot of the java stuff.

Since I'm not likely to be much good in a direct confrontation (apart from maybe blagging our way out of it, and I suspect I'll be too late for that), I'll keep watching for our targets. Just in case this is a smokescreen.

Between you all, you count 6 trolls, 8 orcs and Caine.

Most of them have some degree of obvious cyberwear, from the Troll picking at his tusks with a spur to one of the orcs who has full cybertorso and arms. Closer inspection shows they are all packing, with a 50/50 mix of heavy pistols and shotguns on show. A few have hand to hand weapons, including one of the trolls who is resting on a staff the size of a bit of downpipe. They dont look like a beating is imminent, but they are clearly ready to go if needed.

They are all wearing biker gear, and Frank can see the bikes from his viewpoint (the gangers are between the bikes and the van).

Caine nods at Nik.
Caine wrote:Just biz, I get it. Well, we know who you work for, shorty. You want to back off from us. We can make things very difficult for you, know what im saying? You dont want to mess with the Ragers. Dont think your bosses will help you out. After all, its just biz, right?
He leans in towards Nik.
Caine wrote:Stay away from Ragers. Stay away from Ragers turf. Stay away from Littletree. Twitch here catches scent of your little drones again, and...well...
He leaves the possibilities hanging in the air, and turns back towards the bikes. The rest of the gang follows behind him. The restless guy does that pointing to his eyes, pointing at you, "im watching you" thing at Nik, and scampers off hooting with laughter.

Anyone want to stop them?
