Games "announced" I'd be interested in.
Quake 4
Call of Duty 2
Kameo (pfft, maybe)
The first two I've already preordered for PC, as that's always gonna be my preferred platform for FPS, and I'll continue to upgrade the hardware as and when.
If they had:
Forza 2
LMA 2006
Jade Empire 2
Fable 2
as 360 exclusives, I'd have preorded the device. Actually would have done if either Q4 or CoD2 were exclusives - think they missed a trick there, although no way am I complaining.

This is a really good FAQ if you have any questions/concerns over the Xbox 360.
I didn't realise just how much additional shit you have to buy with the Xbox 360, and it seems they are going down the Sony route of charging a fortune for all the extra bits.
The whole debate over backwards compatibility for older games is interesting too.
I am definitely going to wait till the PS3 comes out I think, and then make a decision

^^ for anyone whos interested thats a summary of a 90 min speech about the future of games, consoles, PCs, and games. there are some very interesting things said, but one main point relevant to this is that the 2 nextgen consoles are going to be about as powerful as high end PC's are today, despite what the marketing hype says.
this, among other things, means i am going to stay with the PC. i made the mistake of buying an xbox, and it is used every month or so now, simply for playing DVD's.
if anyone is interested, i can find the download of the speech, which is a bit over 100mb if i remember correctly.

As long as the Final Fantasy and Asian RP games stay with Sony, the Xbox doesn't really stand much of a chance of success in the east - and with success in the east comes many of the more innovative and interesting games. And without those there games, the Xbox will hold precious little interest for me.

I thought Final Fantasy was Xbox bound? Certainly the man behind it, anyway.

Yeah, one of the Square Enix developers is, but I can't remember which one.

I've just seen the price of the games; £45-50!! Still not as ridiculous as the cost of UMD movies for the PSP though.

that's like what the Koreans pay...
$50 is the norm here, at least for top tier games. I'm loving that Serious Sam 2 will only retail at $30.
still, £45-50 is outrageous. only nutbags and rich SOBs would pay that much.

Korean gamers are mental, either killing each other over a cloudsong or dropping dead from playing too long. its probably government policy to keep the game prices high and stop the people buying too many
SS2 for $30, nice, I hope we get the same deal

Final Fantasy XI Online. With the two expansion packs. The exact same game that was released last October on the PC. And the previous year on the PS2.
As for FFXII, I was sure that was PS2-bound. There was a preview disc with Square's last PS2 game, Star Ocean.

£45-50 per game
Well that's also enforced my decision to wait until the PS3 arrives on the scene

I'm guessing PS3 games will be much the same price, but MS may also drop the price of their games a bit by the time the PS3 comes out. We shall see ...

Yeah I reckon all next-gen* consoles will start off with games £45-50, especially if Sony are losing cash on the PS3 sales price as rumoured.
And Chinese goverment thinking about legislation limiting MMONG'ing to 3 hours a day
<a href="

*Isn't everything always next-gen?, I mean my xbox was next gen, is it still?, the 360's not out yet so it must still be.. or is is current-gen?...

360 is looking less attractive as the lack of exclusive games continues. Perhaps they should blockade their own factory, thus causing everyone to panic buy them.

Hmm, I reckon the price of games will go down to current prices sooner or later.
