Ok, a sum up of what Mr Tashima told you there:
The job is to retrieve an "item". The item should be easy enough to transport, and wont kill you in the process. It's current location is in a warehouse, which he has given you the address of. The people who own the warehouse are not scary big time corporations or anything like that. When you get the item, you call Mr Tashima (with the contact details he gave you), and he will arrange a pick up. You will then get paid 400 nuyen each, plus a bonus depending on how fast you were, and how quietly/proffesionally you did it. He gave you a time limit of 4 days, after which the item will no longer be worth getting, so the contract will be off. Its fair to assume that if that were to happen, his client would be pissed.
I think thats everything.

Right, the plan:
Leland and Al, while you speak to your contacts I'll go and have a nosy round the general vicinity of the <strike>whorehouse</strike> warehouse - my infiltration skills should be good for having a look round, and if I get into trouble my escape artist/running skills should come in handy.
I'll go when it's dark and check the place out with my gear. In fact I'll probably get on top of one of the surrounding buildings and scope it from there.
Will keep you updated via comms.

Before I start, theres something ive just realised. You guys are all talking to each other through comlinks. But you dont all actually own a comlink.
So I'm just going to presume that you guys who didnt get one got one of the cheap and shitty ones. They only cost 100 nuyen, and If you cant afford it (though I think you all probably should be able to) Ill just take it out of the paycheck for the current run. Really, as you have probably already noticed, you kinda need one. The shitty-basic one doesnt come with all the bells and whistles the fancier ones come with, but its still a mobile phone, video camera, audio recorder, mp3 player and GPS unit, as well as the place all your ID's and licences (both real and fake
)are accessed from. And its also your wallet. So yeah, you need one. Anyway...
checking the warehouse out from a discreet distance, Chopper relays the following information to the team:
The area is warehouse heavy. Most of them look purely storage, but you can see signs that some are in use for some low scale manufacturing work as well. Its a pretty grotty area, but reasonably quiet. Theres not even much RFID tagging as you would get in most grotty areas, the gangs and louts in this area seem to go for the more old school method of cans of spray paint. Speaking of gangs, theres 3 youths hanging around the far end of the street, two sat on motorbikes, one leaning against the wall. From their colours, you recognise them as Ultrasonics (
), a small go-gang that hangs out in this area of town. As far as psychotic bike riding thugs go, they are reasonably approachable people, as a rule.
The building itself is quite large, but mostly unremarkable. It backs up close to the buildings on both sides, and you do see some windows up on the gradually sloping roof. There is an area at the front where lorrys can back up to loading bays, and off to the right of the building you can see windows into offices. This time of night the offices are all dark, and steel shutters are across the windows (you can tell the offices are dark from the lack of light showing through the chinks, in case you were wondering). The exception to this is what appears to be the reception area, in between the office windows and the loading bay. There you can see a desk with a security guy sat behind it. You recognise the uniform as that of a company called Closed Fist Security. You remember them being a subsidiary or something of some corp, but you are not sure who. Knowing the company follows pretty standard procedures for these places, the guy on the front desk certainly isnt alone, even at night, and there are probably some cameras covering the entrance and the inside.
Thats about all you can see without getting closer to the place.

Joose, would you be able to do Al's relevant rolls for us?Chopper wrote:Until we get some more info, here are my ideas so far:
1) Wait until night, break in, steal it, leg it. If there's anyone on the security night shift that gets in our way, bash 'em.
2) Immediate brute horse entry. Drop a couple of flash bangs through the door, charge in, beat the shit out of any aggro, nick the stuff and leg it.
Although 2 sounds like immense fun, it also has the most things that could go wrong. As much as I'd like to beat some heads, I don't really want any undue attention.
Al, can you speak to those gang types down the road? We might get some more info from them and we might even be able to get them to cause a distraction for us while we go with idea 1.

Leland wrote:Right, so as far as the security system is concerned they have cameras watching the front, and the windows up above are assuredly alarmed, but it most likely is something we can circumvent. At this point entering from the roof looks preferable to trying to sneak past the cameras.
I was able to assense that some really powerful magic went down here a while ago, and that the magic was being used to contain something. Something really bad. I don't like it one bit. Not at all. The guard is bored to death, which probably means that nothing much ever happens around here. There was also some kind of magic happening up the street, but I really can't say if it was related to whatever is going on here or not.
I think we should try to find a way 'round back and see what's over there or if there's any easy access to the roof.
Also, casting Spatial Sense made me feel a bit woozy, I might need to rest up somewhere.
