I'm proud of 5punkorp and this is why

I'm possibly the youngest (char) of us all, except for tracey who I dragged along a month after I started playing. There was morbidmonk too but he's given it up now.

I found 5punk having played vanilla-BEEF on the 5punk server and was impressed with the admin and friendly atmosphere which is unusual on bf2 servers. I saw something asking me to say hello on the forums, so I did. Not something I'd ever done before having played on anyone else's server. I posted and within a minute I had about 5 replies. "Jesus" I thought, "that is some top class forum whoring".

Anyway, I stuck about, posted in a few more areas and also asked for a trial code for EVE having seen hehulk with an inhuman amount of play-time on his xfire profile. Within about 7 nanoseconds hehulk(or someone) had sent said trial code and I was away. I did the tutorial and then got convo'd by hulk and set course for khank. He also sent me 500k ISK so I could buy me a merlin. That was loads of money and felt really guilty - but if I hadn't I'd have probably given up as I'd have had to have mined that amount of isk in a n00b-ship and soon got bored.

Then after about 2, maybe 3 months myself and Jin decided we'd have to grow some stones and head out into 0.0. We did, and both spent most our time ratting in battlecruisers to afford our first battleships. Jin, the bastard, beat me to a BS - but I beat him to my first 0.0 kill which is way cooler.

Heh, that's the sort of story that really make me happy to be a part of 5punk, not just 5punkorp. It's a nice community.

And I like the bummings too.

As with most things in my life finding my way into 5punkorp was just he end of a series of completely random events. I'd been playing WoW for a while but like most people became bored with endless grind and started looking for something else to play. I found a review of Eve on the Web and decided to just go for it ther and then - no trial just bought a sub straight off.

After doing the tutorial I set out to find a corp straight away and as luck would have it the first person I came across (/me sniggers) was Mordeth recruiting for Fw4ppers. A short convo with M and I decided to make the 20 odd jumps from Oursulaert to Khank and join up.

The pattern since then still hasn't changed - I still don't have a clue and still continue to ask stoopid questions which are fielded (mostly) with good humour by everyone. In the early days though, it was mostly Hulk, M and, strangely, Shodowdemon who showed me the 5punky way, as they were on most of the time during the day when I am on.

Some random memories:

1. 500k as a welcome gift from M - and it was very welcome at the time
2. Hulk buying me a Thorax - I think because he was fed up with hearing about me losing Vexor after Vexor.
3. Wiggy chewing out some retard in W9 because he was spouting some incoherent shite about rats respawning more quickly if you leave the last frig with exactly 23.9% structure left when it's a full-moon on a Sunday or some such.
4. My first ever killmail with Jin laying the last blow.

I love Eve and I love 5punkorp and it was the happiest of coincidences that I landed here in the first place. And that's despite having 'Prefers WOW' as my title for my 1st 4 months in the corp - and I still haven't found out who's responsible although I have my suspicions.
