If it's any consolidation, I can't even access the game as steam is shitting itself.

Re: Payday 2
Oh yeah, this was rather fun last night.
It's definitely still payday, but there's a bit more of a tactical edge to it, there's still a stream of cops, only less massive, and more manageable.
Just seems to be more of the same but considerably more polished. good things!

Also, it seems like with enough planning*, you can pretty much ride out a robbery as long as you like, I was just in one where we opened every single deposit box in a bank. it took almost 30 minutes, but we did get quite a lot of money
Seems like they've removed the soft enrage effect of the old one, where basically it'd become an unmanageable situation very fast, and replaced it with peaks of OHSHIT.
*luck, and a team full of competent people

And by contrast you can do the 4 stores mission solo in under 4 minutes without firing a shot, and unless you're greedy, without being seen!Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Also, it seems like with enough planning*, you can pretty much ride out a robbery as long as you like, I was just in one where we opened every single deposit box in a bank. it took almost 30 minutes, but we did get quite a lot of money

(needs 1 point in ghost to get the ecm jammer: mask up by the side of the ATM in the 24/7, ECM the cash machine, nab the cash box, wait for the van and leg it! Go for tills and safes as per your level of greed)
Re: Payday 2
That sounds more like a game I'd like.

Re: Payday 2
Yep, I've been doing this quite a bit, you can get away with doing it on overkill. quick money and a card for your troubles. Ukrainian job with a tech with shaped charges is a 90 second, true smash and grab job too, quite awesome to do compared to the longer jobs.Anhamgrimmar wrote:And by contrast you can do the 4 stores mission solo in under 4 minutes without firing a shot, and unless you're greedy, without being seen!

Saying that almost every mission is stealthable, and many are faster and easier for it, buuut, if you're not a particularly stealth inclined class, you can find yourself acting as a backup heavy on the more popular levels for ninja type behaviour.
Last night's 5punky payday was a revelation, we had grimmie as a responsible technician, actually doing techniciany things, rather than placing 2 mines and otherwise just shooting (as every other tech in the game seems to do) Everything went remarkably smoothly (hence the remark, just there) and it just shows the value of a balanced team in this game.
