Rah! It works now. I got excited and didn't read it properly. Also, Prof, why are you showing up as Mint_Sauce?

That's clever and probably good that it only show players who have posted.

heh cheers tezz :P

It seems PHPBB automatically turns custom fields that look like urls into links
So your custom field value of http://steamcommunity.com/id/tezzrexx messes up the markup.

Until i can find a way to prevent phpbb turning urls into links or at least fail gracefully, its prob best you just use your actual id - which is: tezzrezz

How's it going guys? I'd love to see this on the forums, and the trial seemed to go okay.

Yep, all good to go here, whenever any admin wants to connect up with me I'll run through the install process with them.

I think though we drop the steam contact button (the ones next to PM, Web etc). Its not needed anyway as the avatar above is a link to the profile anyway.
That's the bit that breaks the layout if someone uses a url instead of their steam ID. It seems impossible to prevent phpbb from making a url into a link

Are you looking to move name and rank next to avatar instead of below? I thought that looked good too.

I'll try and get the main site upgraded at the weekend, which may mean we have to lose Stoat's captcha, but at least we will be in a position to add plugins without worrying about us being out-of-date and incompatible. I'm full of a horrid cold at the moment though, so my concentration isn't high enough to want to risk it until that's eased.

Can we get a plugin captcha? There seem to be some fairly common ones that can't be too bad because some fairly high profile sites use them. Like that fucking annoying one where you can't read the text.

Yes, we can - the only thing that's stopped me trying stuff is that we're a couple of versions out of date and have customisation, so with that sorted we can try the ones mentioned that I think friz uses on his board.

Still suffering with this damn cold, but will upgrade during the week hopefully. I was going to let my hosting lapse as it needs paying for this week, but have decided to keep it, even though funds are a little short. Work have said they are unable to pay me this month :S

I've disabled user registration on http://5punktest.fatherjack.net/
I doubt it's needed, but if it is please turn it back on or ask me to. Admins were getting lots of registration requests, from spammers presumably.

Thanks, that was getting annoying (and might cause us to miss a legit registration on the main forum).

We need to find a new stop-spam registration tool for it and install it on there, as the one we had before isn't working post-upgrade. We will likely have the same problem when we upgrade the main board, so it's worth taking the time to get it right, the email can be sent to just me rather than all of us when this occurs.

When trying to upgrade the main board this weekend it flagged a number of files which differ from what the upgrade process expects, so these will need reviewing carefully to check what will work/need replacing with a plugin after upgrading.
