I don't know about anyone else's rig* but my GPU has traditionally made more noise than any of the other components put together, so I guess it would depend on whether you're going for CPU overclocking potential or quietness. As bomber's CPU is already overclocked, there's probably not much room there, but the CPU fan may be louder than normal as a result.deject wrote:Yeah those units are pretty much designed solely for CPU cooling alone so if you're looking for a complete cooling solution they won't get it done. Still, as an alternative to a typical HSF, it has some big upsides.
* I typically run components at stock speed, though usually buy factory-OC'd GPUs, but care more about airflow, stuffing extra fans in, than about the noise. I think years in machine rooms have either deafened or acclimatised me to not hearing anything from a PC unless I actively concentrate or if something is wrong.
