/facepalm.

I literally facepalmed at your mentality. It amazes me how you've managed so many years in "normal" society without being either arrested or sectioned, more likely the latter if i'm honest. I think your brain stopped working around Mobslugs age. I wish it were generally true of the male population, but I figure a good 95% have at least another 5 years mental capacity above that of your own.

I am now endeaouring to bug Mr Joose until he agrees that Leicester is the safest place for you again. I hear they have nice asylums there too.

I had a go of each of the eight classes last night, there are four starting areas, two for each side, one each for the horse and non-horse users. The smuggler/trooper and bounty hunter/agent ones merge almost immediately with the jedi and sith ones merging after a couple of missions.

I wasn't really feeling the smuggler/imperial agent mechanic of cover first, then shoot - it just felt a bit clumsy and I much preferred the trooper/bounty hunter's just shoot them in the face approach.

The horse users were too similar at the start to make too much distinction, the knight/warrior seemed better at deflecting blaster fire, but the consular/inquisitor had an extra, ranged attack. The light side have quite a large starting area with small clusters of enemies, whereas the dark side is very crowded - as a result you level a lot faster on the dark side.

I've played all of the starting area as Smuggler and a little as a Trooper. I've got no issues with the cover system, other than that it's predictably random as to whether you can take cover or not (since they have to design in every cover point). If there's no cover available then you simply crouch down, and only around half of the abilities require it. I found kicking the bad guys in the nuts then pistol-whipping them to be a fun alternative.

I had a lengthy discussion with Joose over the merits of the story over the grind of the identikit MMO mechanics, and while I still think the actual gameplay would grind me down within a month, I do find myself enjoying the character and plot.

Due to any overwhelmingly underpopulated server my usual MMO playstyle - dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon - has had to go out of the window in favour of a more solo career, which as a healing specced Imp IA is possibly not the best route. Any other game would have me quit for either a better populated server or the game completely. The glaring omission of a LFG tool from release day has affected the number of people who play the game, it is lacking and much needed. However, the IA storyline is so damn good that I will get to at least 50 with that character, just so I can find out what happens.

While I too am enjoying the story, it's not really a selling point for an MMO if it just ends up as a very long singleplayer with a monthly sub.

So far there hasn't been too much grind as I've been able to complete quests on the way to where I'm going, but I don't think I have the patience to wait that long for the story.
