Many might have heard this already. Progressive house with a distinctly Daft Punk vibe, from a 17 year old French guy. I'm hoping he makes more of the same, because if he does he's destined for greatness.

Anyways, I made this post awhile ago, about the band Lucius. They've now released their first album, Wildewoman, and it's sublime. A lot of unique and different sounds going on but guess it's folk/alternative. This is my repeat album for the time being. I recommend finding some of the live or non-studio "room recordings" (dunno what you'd call them) on YouTube as they often sound quite a bit different. The first track especially I think is better in the version on YouTube but the album version is good nonetheless.

Queens of the Stone Age have a new album, Villains, coming out this August. First track released is The Way You Used to Do:

Not quite feeling it yet, but they're one of my favourite bands around so I have high hopes for the rest of the album, and I like how their style is constantly evolving. Excited to hear that 'Villains of Circumstance' is also going to be on there, which previously just one of Josh Homme's solo pieces:

The aforementioned Villains came out last Thursday and I've been listening to it an awful lot ever since. Despite my initial reservations, I am in love with this album. It is very different from their previous stuff which has put a lot fan's noses out of joint, but then again some of them have been bitching ever since the demise of Kyuss. The sound has changed, and that is a good thing - when bands don't evolve they just churn out the same old shit time and time again.

It's really interesting to see what people's favourite tracks are. On previous albums there have always been some clear fan favourites, but this one seems to have made it much more difficult to choose from. It is a shorter offering from their previous outputs, but that just means there are no wasted spaces.
