Here is the deal -- it depends on your Mining Drone Operation skill which gives you a 5% bonus to the yield of the drone. In short, if you have the skill maxed you will get a 25% yield bonus which will give you a 37.5 units or 31.25 units (someone feel free to check my math).

Break down as follows:
Skill % bonus

With Yield
Of
30.............31.5.........33..............34.5............36............37.5
25.............26.25.......27.5...........28.75...........30............31.25

Short term get the drone miner II, as the havesters are so expensive.

Do what Fabyak suggests with any drone use in mining, then when we make the ISK we can upgrade the drones if the ones we bring last without issues.

To answer your question though, the harvesters are the better ones as flight time in a mining field is not going to make up the difference lost in yield sadly.

As a side note -- I do not have a gang mode for the drones, and I believe to have both a gang mod on lasers and the drones in a Cyclone active I would need to have a Command Processor -- which requires Warfare Link Specialist V.

Good news is I will have that in 30 days. Then we can start the work towards a command ship.

There's only one problem with that plan TM.

Drone Mining Links are bugged at the moment. They don't work. At all.

I haven't researched all the rigs like I should have and I know some of you have, are there mining rigs and does the math make it worth while with drawbacks and all?

man this weekend can't get here any faster.

also I need a hulk, TM needs a hulk anyone else need one. Was thinking maybe we could get in touch with a builder and get a package deal ir something

There's no mining rigs other than one for mining drone efficiency. Theres been a few topics on eve-o about it but I'm not sure if anything has came of them.

those that are not mining can always haul, tank and be lead scouts. anyone has a cloaked alt and willing to just have them sit in a system or 2 away for extra warning cool but not necessary.

I know people are gonna come and go all weekend but the goal right now is to have a mining op all weekend. This means you log on you help out. You on and not helping out friz or fea will be notified. I can't stress to everyone how important this weekends op is for the corp.

Right now the corp has no minerals for ammo (ravens r cruise missle whore boats). None for ratting BS. None for capital ship production. Ok the last one is little over board right now but its true. We need minerals.

Just remembered I bought a Badger 2 today with a view to hauling in Saturday's mining op, but then remembered that I'm not actually going to make it. So if anyone is looking for a hauler there is one in Serenity in my personal hangar at the moment but I will try to remember to move it to the corp hangar tomorrow morning. If I forget could one of you grand fromages with security officer status dip in to my hangar in Serenity and get it out. I'll donate it to the corp if you want to insure for such.

No we don't, so corp insuring stuff is a no go sadly. Also, noone can dip into your hangar - it's read only. Nvm though, plenty more haulers about.

bought 50 T2 mining drones, go ahead and use them guys if you can just remember to pull them back before the rats get them, and i got 50 T1 mining drones 2

Danm CCP Well, I guess that will just leave a spot open for something else... The level V skill will still help with the mining ore/ice though too, so it is not a total loss.

I will still work the command/support route though as I know others are doing carriers/dreds - just as an FYI.

Dolly/All -- Badger1 got a hulk, thanks to Quin -- when you guys see him, pls be sure to give him a pat on the back as he REALLY helped me out of a mess in Impire earlier this week.

Thanks for picking up all the drones too Dolly, with luck we will learn quick and keep the rats off'em.

What mining skills should I train up as a minimum?

Basically I intend to tank in a domi so I could use mining drone IIs at the same time and possibly 5x miner 2s aswell. Clearly I would need to train the prereqs for those items (which I don't have atm) so I'll get on that but is there anything else that's worth it? I'm looking for quick items here, not planning to spend more than a few days on it as mining is not really my thing.

That's Ok was a stupid idea anyway - I'll just contract it to the corp so anyone can pick it up. As far as insurance - it's only a badger so if it's lost it's lost.

Mining 4 is needed for Miner IIs, I can fit 6 Miner IIs, have a decent tank and use 5 Miner drones on my domi and I can sit and tank a cruiser spawn non stop and just mine away. Plus if you just aim for a mining barge (the medium one only takes just over a week I think) then the skills you gain from that will make your Domi mine the same as a medium barge.

mining from domi, apoc or other such ships will require computer upgrades. My apoc with 8 miner II need 2 T2 CPU upgrades/enhancers

you going for mining drones II might want to train drone interfacing to 5 to get max out of them but that goes for all types of drones. I like that skill

not yet but I'll take care of it. i got 50 t1 mining drones and 150 T1 mining crystals thats been sitting in my hangar for ever (pyroexes i think they are but not sure)

ok and i bet your cpu and cpu mods skills are higher than most, but for some whos skills aren't as high will need cpu mods
